A note from our supplier: Pentylene Glycol has a zero listed hazard rating in Cosmetic Data Base and there are 23 published articles which provide interesting data and note studies done back in the 1970’s – in all of these, there was only one case listed of Dermatitis in Belgium and two cases in Cleveland, Ohio, in which the use of a topical cream containing Pentylene Glycol was suspected (not determined) to be the cause of the Dermatitis. www.ewg.org (Skin Deep Data Base) rates Pentylene Glycol as zero hazard. On www.goodguide.com it is listed as having no health concerns and is not on their list of hazardous ingredients. We use Pentylene Glycol only in our creams and lotions, which contain a higher water content and therefore need a proven strong preservative, and we consider it to be the safest and healthiest preservative currently available in the absence of a reliable natural preservative.
16 out of 17 people would recommend this product02/04/2018, By AnneDid not do enough for my skin, did not hydrate enough, left my skin feeling dry and tight after a couple of hours already.28/02/2018, By TThis is a dupe for Lush's Gorgeous moisturizer which is about R700 so that's awesome. It's a great cream. My only criticism is that it has citrus oils but is marketed as a day cream. I wouldn't use it as a day cream but rather over a serum or oil at night. This is my 3rd favourite face cream by VG.26/01/2018, By CarolineI really liked the day cream, I have a combination skin and it's tricky to find something that is just right and I am so pleased with trying this product.10/01/2018, By MichelleI love all 'The Victorian Garden' products and this one is no exception. I used to use expensive imported products available only in salons, but have found TVG products to be just as good, if not better!08/10/2017, By JayBought this for my mum and she's loving it. In fact she prefers it over the more expensive retail brands that she used to buy.21/07/2017, By Jeanne JStrong scent of neroli which I love. Great moisturiser and you only need a tiny amount so it lasts and lasts!21/07/2017, By Jeanne JStrong neroli scent which I love, with excellent moisturising and no greasy feel. The bonus is that you use a tiny amount so it lasts for ages.11/07/2017, By BrendaAt first I thought the smell was overpowering but now I love it. (My last day cream was unscented) It absorbs really quick and isn't greasy.10/07/2017, By ElijahReceived this as a sample and quite impressed. Nice scent, not too greasy, but still moisturizing.10/07/2017, By ElijahReceived this as a sample and quite impressed. Nice scent, not too greasy, but still moisturizing.18/08/2016, By MalieNice product.16/01/2015, By ZenI don mind the scent of this moisturizer. And the cream is a nice consistency. Doesn spread as easily and after applying my skin feels a bit tight. Wouldn mind a little more moisture. I still like VG products.19/07/2014, By AngGreat lotion for combination skin. leaves my skin soft, great complexion and no break outs. Even have days that I don wear foundation. Not too fond of the smell, would not mind a little bit more moisture though.17/10/2011, By JenniI love the scent of neroli & this light, non-greasy but really moisturising cream smells heavenly! Agree with Anthea that it's not going to be rich enough for dry skin & you may need something richer around the eyes, but otherwise, this is my new favourite!18/08/2011, By Jacqueline1Wonderful,light moisturiser for a combination skin.Leaves skin soft and shine free.01/08/2011, By AntheaA really light moisturiser with a lovely lemon fragrance. I do however find that after a few minutes it leaves my skin feeling a little tight. Not sure it would be suitable for mature skin that needs more moisture.
