Natural Anti-Ageing Products I Have my Eye on in 2019

I’m turning 38-years young this year, and it is a bittersweet fact that my skin is evidence of the great life I have led so far. My laughter lines are deeply entrenched, the sun has kissed my skin far too many times, and the lines around my eyes tell stories of great adventures. And in researching and selecting my skincare routine, I am both deeply motivated to find the best natural selection of ingredients to support my outer Goddess in glowing for all she is worth, as well as being fortunate to be at the forefront of the natural beauty industry and all its corresponding trends and growth. And so after careful consideration, these are the 10 products I will be using this summer to optimise my natural beauty potential.

  1. Skin Creamery Oil-Milk Cleanser

Kalahari melon, jojoba and baobab are ultra-nourishing and conditioning when applied to the skin. When rinsed off with warm water, the oils emulsify into a creamy milk, where dirt and impurities dissolve. I just adore sesame oil and it is one of the star ingredients here, as it’s essential fatty acids helping to repair damaged skin cells and strengthen tissues with deep hydration and nourishment. Sesame oil even helps to reduce the appearance of scars and brighten up your complexion. I’ve opted for an oil-based cleanser because plant-based oils are rich in antioxidants, which help to neutralise the damaging free radicals that cause premature ageing. Also with their rich fatty acid content, plant-based oils help to hydrate and plump the skin.

  1. Hey Gorgeous Vitamin C Boosting Serum

Vitamin C is, and has been, keenly on my radar as an essential anti-ageing weapon, and forms the foundation of many of my skincare choices. Vitamin C is proven to stimulate the synthesis of collagen, making your skin appear more youthful, vibrant and alive. Its antioxidant properties can also improve skin damage caused by the sun, as well as helping your skin’s rate of exfoliation for a brighter, smoother complexion. I use this night and day after cleaning my skin.

  1. SKOON. Glow Drops Concentrate

Formulated with a base of jojoba oil and plant-based Phytosqualane for a soft, natural, luminous glow; infused with natural vitamin E and concentrated drops of flower essences (like rose geranium and damask rose oils) the Glow Drops have become my best friend. Plant-based squalene is lightweight and highly nourishing, free from oil and highly compatible with your skin’s own lipids, as it is also a component of our own natural oil. It absorbs slowly through the skin and is a natural component of human sebum and has emollient properties that soften and soothe skin. It adds a layer of oil on the skin that helps to slow water loss and keep skin soft and supple. I use these around my eyes and mouth in the morning before applying my SPF day cream.

  1. Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC Cream SPF30

Designed for colour correction and perfect coverage, this organic makeup is perfect in every way, it will even help to fight the signs of ageing, evening your skin’s tone and texture while reducing the appearance of small wrinkles and fine lines. This is due to the plant stem cells in its formulation, which research shows have outstanding anti-ageing properties, as they can, among other activities, stimulate fibroblasts to synthesise collagen, which in turn stimulates skin regeneration.

  1. BaoCare Radiance

This is a really powerful combo harnessing the anti-ageing qualities of baobab, jojoba and pomegranate oil.  Baobab oil is a naturally light oil that doesn’t clog pores and absorbs rapidly without leaving a greasy residue. It has a unique fatty acid profile with exceptional quantities of Omega 6 and 9. These essential fatty acids are known to maintain elasticity, soften and smooth the skin, help to retain moisture, soothe inflammatory conditions and regenerate new skin cells – I mean, are you serious? Baobab oil has been clinically proven to deeply moisturise and hydrate the skin and reduce trans-epidermal water loss. Pomegranate oil is the ‘Anti-ageing Queen’ due to its very high levels of vitamin C and punicic acid (an omega that helps skin hold onto it collagen). I will be using oil at night on the ageing sensitive areas of my skin like my eyes and around my mouth.

  1. Argan Green Moroccan Black Soap (assisted by Argan Green Kessa Exfoliating Glove Scrub)

Oooh, what an indulgent beauty treatment for your face and body, made with real Moroccan argan and olive oil to leave your skin looking simply radiant. For centuries, Moroccan women have used Beldi Black Soap to keep their skin healthy and gorgeous and I discovered this a few years ago and have never looked back. Ultra-nourishing and gentle, this black soap is suitable for all skin types, as an all over body experience, and makes a fabulous anti-ageing treatment. I use it as an all-over body mask about twice a week and scrub it off with the glove. I have always believed and seen first hand in the amazing benefits of exfoliation. Of course, beauty is not just skin deep, and these are the supplements I am adding to my routine to support my skin, especially.

  1. Coyne Health BioMax CoQ10

Co-Enzyme Q10 (also called Ubiquinone) is a naturally occurring substance similar to a vitamin; it is synthesised in the liver and is essential for the normal functioning of your body’s cells. Ageing, an imbalanced diet and certain medications can cause your CoQ10 levels to drop, which can lead to conditions like high blood pressure, angina, heart problems, low energy and a lowered immune system. Taking a CoQ10 supplement can help restore your body’s balance, and will even help to rejuvenate your skin from the inside out.

  1. Cibdol Liposomal Vitamin C with CBD

I find this is the best way to get your daily 3mg CBD supplement and a healthy helping of vitamin C at the same time. The liposomal nutrient delivery system increases the bioavailability of Vitamin C, to help keep your energy levels high. Taking both CBD and Liposomal Vit C will help protect you from cellular oxidation and free radical formation. The vitamin C has a positive collagenic activity that promotes healthy skin, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, blood vessels and other connective tissues.

As for the CBD oil – it too contains antioxidant properties which contribute to the research indicating CBD oil can help lessen the visible signs of ageing, basically, by reducing inflammation and counteracting free-radical damage, CBD may actually be able to visibly diminish issues like wrinkles, skin dullness, and ruddy skin tone.

  1. SOLAL Resveratrol Extra Strength Plus

This triple-powered antioxidant supplement from SOLAL protects your cells and DNA against free radical damage and ageing. It also supports heart health by reducing cholesterol levels. Resveratrol is a potent antioxidant, found in red grapes. Solal Resveratrol Extra Strength Plus combines resveratrol with a potent blueberry extract and natural grape seed extract, to create a highly effective, protective antioxidant formula.

  1. Akan Moringa Capsules

Moringa, in my experience, offers an almost perfect natural and whole food multivitamin. It contains all the essential vitamins and minerals we need, as well as necessary omegas. I find Moringa to be incredibly energising and I know that even if I spent thousands of rands on my skin, if my body is depleted of essential vitamins and minerals, my body’s largest organ will take strain.

  1. Your Beauty Tonic Box

I stumbled across this unique beauty drink while doing this research and I can’t wait to try it – it is a total no-brainer for me. Formulated specifically to rejuvenate skin, hair, and nails from the inside out, it contains 16 different vitamins, minerals, and natural extracts like Gotu Kola, marine collagen, and hyaluronic acid. It’s a powerful brew for sure.
