Yes, it is a bit oily and thick but it is all natural and that is what I love and my skin as well. Can surf or kite for long sessions and don't get burned. The excellent quality zinc protects well and even has a great healing affect. If I start feeling I am getting a fever blister, I apply the sun cream and it stops. Also there is no after taste after I apply it on my lips and also does not burn my eyes once I am in the water. Obviously it being a natural product the first squirt might be a bit watery, but this isn't in ANY WAY a bad thing --- it just shows it's natural, which is what we want when we buy products with organic ingredients. People complaining about the "spreadability" of it don't know how natural products work. If you want liquid and easy to spread keep buying the chemically laden products. And even saying this, Eli&You sunscreen DOES actually spread quite nicely once you're used to it. The zinc in it makes it a bit thicker, which I actually prefer. My kids say it smells like licorice and I can definitely smell the herby smell of the moringa seed oil which might take a little bit of getting used to, but it doesn't give you that horrible chemical taste in the back of your throat like conventional sun-lotions if you get it onto your lips. I love that I know nothing toxic goes into our bloodstreams when applying it, especially when I have to apply it ever so often for school-going kids. That's what it's all about: peace of mind. I bought this because I stopped wearing makeup and so needed an SPF for my face, but it was too oily. I then took it no holiday with me and used it as an all over sunscreen and I would have to shower twice before it was completely gone. I never got burnt though.
