Moringa oleifera is a tree native to the Indian subcontinent but has naturalised throughout many arid and semiarid regions in Africa. It can grow up to 12 meters tall but farmers typically keep them pruned to more easily harvest the leaves. The seeds are also harvested to make Ben Oil. The trees are highly drought resistant but thrive especially well in tropical Limpopo.
