Beetroot pattie

The Ultimate Vegetarian Burger: Beet(root) patties



  1. Roast the beetroot with a generous drizzle of olive oil and salt at 180’C until soft. 
  2. Fry your onions until translucent. Add the garlic and fry for another 2 minutes. Allow to cool. 
  3. In a food processor combine all the ingredients and blend until combined but some texture remains. 
  4. If the mixture is too sticky, add some more flour. You want to be able to shape the patties in your hand without the mix being too wet. 
  5. Shape the patties and you can place them on baking paper in the oven and bake for 20 minutes, or shallow fry them for some beautiful colouring and a crunch! 
  6. These can be rolled into little falafel balls or burger patties.

Serve with some carrot hummus, cucumber and avocado! Enjoy
