Boost Your Body’s Natural Detox System

  • Drink as much fresh water as you can. Water flushes unwanted toxins from your body and keeps your brain sharp. Foggy thinking sets in when you are dehydrated. As a tip to remind yourself to drink water, try keep glasses or glass bottles of water next to your bed, at your working space and beside your handbag. We are giving away great glass bottles of water when you buy a happy water, and as an extra tip, the lime cordial glass bottles are really beautiful – I have a few of these round the house.
  • Use products that help decongest your system like the delightful Soil Toning Massage Oil which is a cleansing blend with Fennel, Geranium and Rosemary to help reduce cellulite by detoxifying, toning and stimulating the skin, plus Juniper berry, which helps get to work on lymphatic congestion.
  • Use an Ayervedic tongue cleaner. While you sleep at night your body is busy clearing out toxins. Some of those toxins are deposited on your tongue as a coating. During your detox, your tongue might develop a thicker coating or taste strange when you wake up. By gently scraping this coating off first thing in the morning you avoid reabsorbing these toxins and help your breath smell better. Other benefits of tongue cleaning are to enhance your sense of taste; to improve your digestion and to stimulate your internal organs.
  • Sip warm water as often as you can. I add lemon, honey or ginger to mine to make it taste better. Drinking warm water has some really great and surprising benefits. It balances your hormones, strips your body of toxins and improves your digestion.
  • Breathe. Most of us in today’s times have forgotten to breathe. Breathing can quickly make your thinking excited or calm, tense or relaxed, gentle and clear. Deep, slow and conscious breathing is the key to oxygenating your lungs, bloodstream, heart and whole brain.
  • Sweat at least once a day. Find an exercise routine that suits you and trick yourself into sticking with it by inviting friends for instance to join you. A sauna is another easy way to sweat with minimal effort on your part.
  • Stretch. Stretching improves blood circulation and releases toxins from your body. It is also a great way to start the day by bridging the gap gently between your sleepy state and your excited “I’m going to make this the best day of my life state.”
  • Pamper yourself with masks, especially those with clay in, as clay specifically draws out impurities. A great option is the Volcanic Clay Mask deeply cleanses your skin pores, removing dirt, inflammation and impurities stored in the epidermis layer. The clay first adsorbs toxins (heavy metals, free radicals, bacteria), attracting them to its surface area where they adhere to the clay, then it absorbs the toxins like a sponge. Inflammation and skin blemishes are absorbed into the clay, resulting in accelerated clearing, soothing and nourishment of the skin. You will easily see and feel the difference as your skin clears, becomes soothed, refreshed, calmed & youthful looking.
