- 1 bottle Herbatint hair colour gel 60ml
- 1 bottle glycol developer 60ml
- 1 sample of either shampoo or conditioner 15ml
Herbatint is easy to mix and apply and is fragrance-free. If you have used a henna based dye in the past few months, please note that using chemical dyes over hair colored with pure plant dyes can give unexpected results, which are usually much darker color than would normally be expected, because plant dyes don't “lift” as easily. Chemical dyes may also fade faster than usual because henna makes your hair smoother and less porous so the chemical dyes won't attach as well, and often wash out with fewer shampoos. Therefore, if you are going to change the type of dye you are using please, give it a few months between the dyes. To be extra vigilant we would suggest a strand test if you are switching from henna to chemical based or visa versa.
With Herbatint, you don’t have to make a choice between style and beauty on the one hand and looking after your health and supporting green practices on the other. The colour holds for as long as conventional permanent hair dyes and the depth and range of colour is not compromised by the lack of chemicals. With its unique dyeing process & quality Ingredients, hair is left in far better condition.
Herbatint is not tested on animals and comes in biodegradable, recyclable packaging.

For your Information:
How does Herbatint penetrate the hair with colour in the absence of ammonia?
Herbatint uses plant-based alkalines, with a maximum PH level of 8.5 (ammonia is 12.5), which avoids structural damage to the hair shaft. This also means that once the colour pigments have been deposited, the hair cuticle can be completely re-closed, resulting in better hair condition and far less colour fade. The addition of Aloe Vera assists with the transfer of colour. Are Phenylenediamines (PPDs) present in Herbatint?
Like all permanent hair colour products Herbatint does contain PPDs, the colour pigments used to alter your hair's natural shade. Though the research is not conclusive, it has been suggested that PPDs are potentially harmful. Herbatint contains the minimum possible levels – 0.8 – 0.9% in most of the colours, with a maximum of 2.1% in the darkest colour. Current European legislation allows for PPD’s to comprise up to 6% of the constituents of hair dyes. Herbatint also contains numerous vegetal extracts to reduce the impact of PPD’s. However, we recommend that pregnant ladies and people undergoing chemotherapy treatment do not use any permanent hairdye.I have had allergic reactions to hairdyes in the past; will I react to Herbatint?
Most people who have reacted in the past do not react to Herbatint, as the formula does not contain many of the potential irritants normally used in hair dyes, and much lower levels of those that may cause irritation. Herbatint also contains Aloe Barbadensis, which is an effective anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant. However, there are a small number of people with allergic reactions to all kinds of substances and we strongly advise performing a skin test prior to tinting your hair.Which herbal extracts are included in Herbatint?
Herbal extracts include Aloe Vera, which is rich in vitamins, enzymes, Panthenol and natural minerals to protect and nourish the hair while colouring; Meadowfoam, rich in vitamins E and F, ensures better colour cover and longer lasting results; Witch Hazel is rich in essential oils and treats the scalp, Betula Alba (White Birch) is an effective hair tonic and Echinacea hydrates the hair. How often should I colour my hair?
With permanent colour, we suggest colouring re-growth when it becomes noticeable (usually after 5 weeks). Can I colour my hair after a perm?
Yes, with Herbatint you can, but use a shade lighter than you want (permed hair is more porous) and leave it on for only 10 – 15 minutes, unless you are covering grey, in which case leave it on for 30 – 40 minutes.Does Herbatint work on bleached hair?
Yes, but remember to mix a gold shade with a natural if your target shade is 6N or above. 5N and below must be mixed with gold/copper on bleached hair. Will Herbatint cover my grey?
Herbatint covers grey 100% on its first application, however, if you are more than 20% grey and you are opting for one of our fashion shades (Golden, Mahogany, Copper or Ash), we highly recommend that it is mixed with the appropriate natural tone. Natural colours are indicated with a letter N, from Black 1N to Platinum 10N. To cover mostly grey hair for example, 20ml of 4R Copper (the chosen colour) should be mixed with 40ml of 4N Chestnut (the corresponding numbered natural shade) and combined with 60ml of Glycol developer. Accordingly, if 20ml of 7R Copper Blonde is chosen, you would then mix this with 40ml of 7N Blonde and combine with 60ml of Glycol developer.
The higher the percentage of Grey that needs to be covered the greater the proportion of Natural colour that needs to be included. -

09/12/2024, By RabsI l really ove this hair colour. It took so well on my grey hair
IHowever, I have recommended it to my daughter who has unfortunately not had any success with her grey coverage.I put it down to the fact, that it is possibly due to my hair being more porous than hers01/11/2022, By GayeI love Herbatint. It is easy to apply and is not messy. It also gives great grey coverage. I love that I can use 1/4 of the mixture at a time to just touch up my roots. It really is a great product.06/06/2022, By HannahI have tried everything from those claiming to be the most natural to off-the-shelf box dyes. I have extremely fragile hair that is prone to breakage and falls out easily. I can easily say that this product did the least damage to my hair and left it feeling the best of all those I have tried before. I would highly recommend this if you are worried about damaging your hair. The colour is vibrant and lasts very nicely without significantly fading out or becoming brassy.24/01/2022, By Hilda-martI love this product! Easy to use, beautiful colour with none of the scalp irritation left by chemical based hair dyes!!24/01/2022, By Hilda-martI love this product! Easy to use, beautiful colour with none of the scalp irritation left by chemical based hair dyes!!25/04/2021, By PhillipaMy favourite hair colourant! None of that awful chemical smell. I leave mine on for much longer than the packaging suggests, and the colour is rich and gorgeous. Love that I only need to mix up what I need. One box lasts me three colourings, and I have long hair.18/02/2021, By LeoneThe fact that i only have to use what i need and keep the rest of the product for another day.

It does not have a strong smell nor does it urn ure eyes.27/05/2020, By JulieCan't recommend this enough. It is a lovely product to use, easy to apply, the colour lasts and hair feels soft and silky afterwards. I've been using it for years, but with the first purchase you do need to buy the brush to apply product and apron.02/04/2020, By CarlaGreat even colour. Came out a bit darker than expected, but still looks wow25/10/2019, By JulieI get great coverage, makes your hair super soft and shiny and easy to apply. Love everything about it! I've been using it for years.15/10/2019, By AmbanMain reasons for 1 star is 1. the residue. Applied it a week ago and despite multiple washes since it's still streaking my pillow case and it's very difficult to get the color off white.
2. It did not color my greys effectively
3. Left my hair feeling very dry.
Had high hopes after all the reviews but wont use or recommend this product again.14/08/2019, By BernieI will absolutely recommend this product! Beautiful colour and cover. And best of all knowing that it is natural and no beings were harmed in the making of it is superb! Some negative feedback on the online delivery is that care should be taken when packing as the product always runs out if it is not packed securely.08/01/2019, By PhillipaAbsolutely love this product and one box usually lasts me two hair colours, and I have long hair. I like the fact that there is no strong chemical smell. I just wish that it came with a bottle to mix everything in.11/11/2018, By RobI really like this more natural product as I have sensitive reactions at the salons. The colour is darker than expected especially when left on a little longer. Will keep on using!01/10/2018, By RobynExtremely happy with Herbatint. First time colouring my own hair and will continue using this product.12/09/2018, By GabriellaThis is the second colour I've tried from HerbaTint. I'm not sold on this specific colour though. It came out very dark and didn't lighten with time like the other colour I've tried. It is mostly like a dark red. Not happy with this colour. But happy with the product overall so giving it 3 out of 5.05/08/2018, By JulieI LOVE this product. I've used it for ages. The colour looks natural, colour holds well and it leaves your hair feeling soft and beautiful. The names are a little misleading, so take care when matching your colour. It's super easy to apply17/11/2017, By GinaI have tried other products but always reorder this one now. It covers grey hair 100 percent. The nice thing is that I only use half to touch up my roots. So I can use it for two applications.20/04/2017, By TessaBetter than any salon colour I've had. I've coloured my hair for 20 years professionally. This is the first home colour I've done. So easy and result is stunning! ! Feels good to know there is nothing harmful in it too!07/11/2015, By AngelaStunning coverage, no ammonia smell or after dye odor lingering. Soft, shiny finish. Found my new favourite hair dye. Definitely recommend.24/02/2015, By AntonIf you have been experiencing endless problems with hair colours on the market such as burning/chemical burns, stinging, finding it hard to breathe and allergies than look no further!
The product is truly amazing. It does not have toxic fumes and it does not sting! There is no burning and your scalp doesn feel irritated. SO many of my friends have actually stopped using hair colour because they have, like me, experienced allergic reactions from hell - never used to -! Don despair here is the answer.
Followup: The colour lasts and lasts! It does not fade and remained completely stable and vibrant 5 weeks after colouring. The greys remained covered.
Had hair cut and shaped after colouring so most of my damaged hair by commercial brand hair products and their toxic chemicals had been cut out. Recoloured 5.3 weeks after initial colouring and the result well, its spectacular! My hair after a masque treatment is amazingly healthy! In 25 years of using hair colours I have never, ever experienced the result I have with Herbatint. The colour is magnificent! Thank you!
Goodness knows what the big name bully boy hair producers have put in their products that make them so awful, but they need to take a look at Herbatint and how they do things!
The colour is lovely natural and blends in nicely with tones in the hair. I love the fact that it comes in two bottles that can be closed and reused. I don have a lot of hair so I can now colour twice without the need for buying another one! Love that!
Be warned though! Its a different experience. No mess! The gel is really a gel and is expertly and easily applied. Moreover excess is easily wiped off and does not stain like the other commercial chemical cesspool products.
Thank you Herbatint and FaithfultoNature!
