If you have tried proper shaving soaps, you will know that you should achieve a really thick, creamy lather (with a shaving brush) which stays on your face until you shave, or wash it off.
This doesn't.
It has a rather thin lather that sort of evaporates on your face, so it doesn't give quite the same close and comfortable shave as a proper shaving soap. I've experienced this before with locally made bars of soap that state 'shaving soap', but they must be missing an ingredient.

It appears to relax the skin and soften the bristles, even after a lengthy period of no shaving, there is no pull or discomfort.
