08/12/2024, By ChrisI wanted to cut processed and other sugars out of my diet, then I found monk fruit. Taste was a consideration, but its impact on my physical well being was my main concern. I did a deep dive into this product before purchasing it. In particular, I wanted to know more about the erythritol - it is needed to remove the bitter taste. While erythritol is a natural sugar alcohol, it is present in only small quantities in fruit, so it has to be created for mass consumption. This is done one of two ways - fermentation and synthesized. In the organic fermentation process, non-GMO corn and/or other plant starch and chemical free cleaning is used. Synthesized erythritol is processed using chemicals and likely the corn and other plant based ingredients are not GMO or pesticide free. From a GI and weight perspective, Sweetleaf's product is a great and healthier alternative to all sweeteners, including fresh fruit, honey and dates. And its taste and texture are great. This product is a game changer for me.11/10/2024, By MichelleThis is now a must have in my life, its a great substitute for sugar that tastes like sugar.
My whole family is loving it as well01/09/2024, By RichardI was scared that it would have an aftertaste like other artificial sweeteners, but I was pleasantly surprised that it did not. Normally I would take 2 tsp for my coffee, now in order to get the same sweetness I take 3 with this product.01/09/2024, By RichardI was scared that it would have an aftertaste like other artificial sweeteners, but I was pleasantly surprised that it did not. This was recommended to me by my Dr. to help relief symptoms of PCOS. Hope it does so in the long run.05/03/2024, By SThis works very well in baked goods and in tea etc as a sugar substitute. No side taste at all. However, it does contain erythritol and there is no mention of percentage of erythritol in this product. It is not 100% monk fruit.05/09/2023, By SGreat sugar substitute. Works well in baking with no apparent side effects. Only down side is the price.09/08/2021, By LanieMonkfruit sweetener is a very good substitute for sugar and it has no after taste like other sweetenes
