For those who are new to the idea of hemp protein and are looking for some information on it, I will provide my thoughts for you :)
I was a avid user of the shelf product... USN, SSN and Muscle Works Whey protein, which to be honest is all a load of nonsense. In search for a healthier more balanced and accurate protein source I decided to go organic - I can always add my own glutamine and flavour to my specs to suit my routine. Being sensitive to dairy, only figuring this out recently, I decided to try out Hemp Protein.
Taste: I was shocked at the taste, from sweet whey to earthy hemp... it was a major difference on the buds. Im a whimp when it comes to foul tasting things. I loaded my shake with sugar free peanut butter, cocoa powder and on the odd occasion some honey to help it go down! A mission and mess, but it works. Others use bananas, yoghurts and berries, imagine the goodness.
Texture: Hemp has a very gritty texture which results in a lot of it sinking to the bottom of your shake. There are ingredients and methods to help this a bit. I got used to the texture and enjoyed it because its supposedly good for cleansing your intestines and colon.
Price Value: Its pricey but manageable. I didn notice a huge difference when taking it. I gym 5 times a week, keep fit, try cut out sugar as much as possible and avoid wheat/gluten. I didn lose any weight or muscle but29/04/2014, By kandisHemp is absolutely great. I mix it in with my oats, smoothies and even cook with it. Hemp helps with my energy levels. It is great as a muscle builder and is great after a workout :)
