It certainly does clean well and remove food, however because the weave is quite large/loose but of food get stuck in it and can't come out (even tried it in the washing machine). The other problem is that because it is just an abrasive piece and has no sponge attached to it, it does not hold soap at all, and so I find I have to keep adding more soap to clean. I imagine this product could be cheaper considering it's made from a byproduct of coconut farming & hope to see the price eventually drop. It's saddening to witness how often the eco-conscious movement remains inaccessible and elitist. Many would do more if it was within their means.
