Description
-
- Sea sponges are sustainable and hypoallergenic, containing no allergenic material at all
- Sustainable harvesting: Sea sponges have the ability to regenerate from fragments left from the original sponge. When a sponge is correctly harvested, the base of the sponge remains intact, so that it has the ability to regrow, and can be harvested again and again
- Once wet, they are extremely absorbent, create a wonderful lather, naturally inhibit the growth of bacteria, and can be used on all skin types
- They contain a natural variety of minerals, such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, zinc and potassium
- They provide gentle cleansing and exfoliation
- Sea sponges and veganism: By definition, sea sponges are classified as animals and not plants; however, sponges have no organs, brains or nervous systems, meaning that they do not feel any pain. When they are correctly harvested, sea sponges are not injured or damaged; they grow back stronger, and also release spores to form new sponges. This process is similar to pruning a plant in order to keep it healthy. Some vegans might feel that using a natural sea sponge contradicts the vegan belief system or lifestyle; while some others may not. The choice is yours to make
Directions
- Thoroughly wet the sponge and either rub a bar of soap over the surface, or squirt on some gel cleanser
- Rub the sponge to create a rich lather, and use to wash your body
- Rinse out the soap, and leave the sponge to dry on the side of the bath or shower
- It will dry pretty stiff, but will soften up when wet
Care Instructions
- Between uses, ensure the sponge dries fully - if your shower stays damp, hang the sponge somewhere with better air circulation
- If you are concerned about cleaning your sponge, you can soak it a cup of warm water with 1 tablespoon of vinegar (apple cider or white vinegar)
- If any odours have built up, add 2-3 drops of tea tree oil to that solution to eliminate odours

23/02/2024, By Spongebob3rd time buying this sponge. But they seem to shrink with every order. If the one I got is indeed a large, then the small must be microscopic!20/03/2023, By AmberI almost didn’t buy this because of the reviews but it has held together well. The sponge is natural and will rip if it is held in a claw because your fingers go through the material so you have to be careful. I’m happy with it.26/12/2022, By LinkeI agree with Sam, I Have purchased these sponges before and the last one simply disintegrated within weeks. Will not purchase again.30/11/2022, By EVAI bought the large one
After using it 5 times it disintegrated06/05/2022, By AtiyaReally soft, lathers nicely much better than expected, decent size and dries quickly. Been using it for 2 weeks, will have to see how it holds up! Much better than the synthetic alternative27/09/2021, By EuodiaFalls apart fairy quickly, I had the large and medium sponge.13/07/2021, By SamThey have downgraded the quality of their sea sponges to what seems like synthetic quality. The first one I bought from them 2 years ago is still in perfect shape, although old. I have bought two more subsequently and been dissatisfied. The last one has broken a part within a week. Very disappointed and can't seem to find another legit supplier in SA .05/05/2021, By ElzanneHave been looking for a sea sponge for so long. This one is absolutely perfect.08/02/2021, By NonnieAbsolutely love love this sponge! And it is the perfect size too.
