Cordyceps are found across the globe however it is most commonly found in Asia. The traditional Cordyceps Sinensis grows naturally on caterpillars high in the mountains of China. Cordyceps sinensis mycelium can be cultivated without worms. It is grown using brown rice and broth substrate making it more sustainable. The other well-known species of Cordyceps is Cordyceps militaris, which is grown without insects making it vegan-friendly.
