Inside the purifier is a purifying candle of advanced design. It has a micro-porous ceramic outer wall lined with colloidal silver, and holding an inner core of Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) made from coconut shells.
The water passes through this filter to be made pure and safe in three ways:
- The outer micro-porous ceramic pre-filter removes up to 99.9% of bacteria and 99% of suspended solids by screening down to one micron.
- The water then passes through the inner core of Activated Charcoal, which removes taste and odours, This core is protected by a bactericidal agent to maintain the purity of the water.
- A small (and necessary) amount of dissolved minerals and active biocides are left in the water to prevent any possibility of re-contamination.
Each Stefani Flex purifier is equipped with the Stefani water filter candle cartridge and also with a float valve to duplicate the reservoir water capacity, offering refreshing drinking water whenever needed.
The Stefani Filter candle replacement can last up to 6 months or 500 litres of filtered water. Please note that depending on the water quality in your area, you may need to replace the water filter candle sooner than the 6 month timeframe noted above. The Stefani filter candles offer superior filtration of 0.5 microns, which is a fraction of a sand particle. This high level of purification ensures the removal of most impurities from the purified water and results in the most naturally fresh healthy drinking water.
Various local and international water quality laboratories have certified that Stefani water filters consistently remove and reduce the water impurities and contaminants listed below:

The filter started yellowing within the first 2 weeks which just goes to show how dirty our tap water really is! Very glad I purchased this filter! With the help of FtN, we were able to solve the problem (1. An airlock or air bubble can occur in the filter candle (especially when new) Resolve by gently shaking the candle.
2. The float valve could be blocked with carbon residue. This can be verified by running the unit without the float attached. )
and the water filter now delivers the promised 1 liter / hour.
Very happy about the product and the water tastes great!

The first filtration is quite slow, so don't expect to get a lot of beautifully filtered water on the first day, but after that it has been very efficient. We fill it up in the morning so that it can filter while we are at work, and by evening we can enjoy lovely, healthy water.
A nice tip: we have a water dispenser (just a simple, 10l container with a tap) and fill that up in the evenings with the filtered water, so that we can filter another tank while we sleep. Later in the day I got a phone call from them to say that they will not only replace the water chamber, but also include a free candle! I handle the water filter with great care and am very happy with the quality of the water, so it was great that they took my word for this. I was really impressed with the professional way in which this was handled. Needless to say I am very grateful for the new chamber and filter too! It surprise me a little when it came in a small box. You have to put the pieces together, but it was very easy and it came with a manual.

Die verskaffer het my geskakel en gesê ek moet die boonste en onderste eenhede (nie die filter nie) oornag in water met 2 teelepels citric acid week en daarna weer water filtreer en kyk of die smaak verbeter het. Die water se smaak het aansienlik verbeter na ek die proses gedoen het. Hy het ook aanbeveel dat ek dit kort-kort kan herhaal tot die water
goeie smaak het. Ek was werklik geimponeer met die diens en kliëntesorg. Hulle bly ook opvolg om te hoor of ek nou tevrede is. Ek is werklik nou tevrede met die Flex. Dit is liggewig en ek kan dit oral saamneem vir
naweek of vakansie en het altyd lekker vars gesuiwerde water. Graham julle is tops met diens. Ek gee julle nou 5 ***** sterre. Ek het die eerste 12 liter gebruik om plante mee nat te gooi soos die instruksies gesê het. Daar was ook genoem dat die water die eerste paar dae
effense keramieksmaak sal hê, wat wel so was. Ons gebruik die filter nou al vir 3 weke op
aanhoudende basis, maar die water het regtig nie
lekker smaak nie. Ek is regtig spyt ek het die aangekoop.
