These delicious carob chunks are dairy and sucrose free and are a great alternative to those allergic to chocolate or sensitive to theobromine.

Vegetable fat, carob powder, maltodextrin, soya flour, fructose, soya lecithin, emulsifier and flavourant

Chocolate Fruit Truffles Recipe:
2 cups carob chunks
1 1/2 cup raisins
2 cups Nuts, your favorite
1 cup dates

Place all the ingredients except the carob into a blender and blend until well mixed.
Melt the carob either in a double boiler.
Form the fruit mix into balls and using and then dip them into the melted carob mixture.
Wrap a tray in cling film and place each ball onto the cling form.
Refridgerate the truffles for 10 minutes before serving.

If you would like a creamier consistency, add either a tablespoon or two of caco butter or coconut oil to the fruit mixture before blending.

Perhaps am not using this the correct way. But I was expecting more carob ( it only has less than 20% I think), and it doesn't melt nicely.

However to have it as a snack when I really want chocolate, it's ok. In the meantime till I get some chocolate!

Once open it doesn't last at all. I love carob chunks. A bit pricey, so I spoil myself when it is discounted. I would prefer it to be in more bite size chunks, as it is hard to bite.

If I had known before purchasing this product that it only contains 16% carob I would not have bought it. I just received my latest order containing the carob chunks so I eagerly opened them and cut a chunk to try. I almost spat it out it was so non-'caroby' and all I could taste were fat and sweetener. I will use the carob powder which I am happy with and mix with coconut oil to coat my truffles and energy balls. Will have to give this away as I cannot even contemplate eating it again. Perhaps it is also the many years of being vegan and only eating dark chocolate that have changed my palate.

I love the taste, it is so versatile, healthy!! I love carob!! Can be used for sweet and savory dishes!!
