From the forests to the beaches and beyond - not even the fossils can escape plastic’s reach. They’re called plastiglomerates - fossils moulded not by rock or natural soil, but by plastic. We're giving nature a voice, which is why we set up our own plastiglomerate sculpture, created by artist Francois Knoetze to raise awareness about the impact of plastic.
Following the month of April, Earth Month, we want to grow the conversation about curbing our consumption. We believe that every person can make a real difference, with just one conscious cart at a time.
To get inspired, we’re bringing you the brightest sustainable minds in the game: on 12 May at 12pm, this page will host a livestream featuring speakers:
Robyn Smith, founder and director of Faithful to Nature.
Yola Mgogwana, a ferocious 13-year-old Climate Activist from Cape Town.
Xoli Fuyani, an Environmental Education Coordinator for Earthchild Project.
Aaniyah Omardien, founder and director of The Beach Co-op.
The livestream will be hosted by Kia Johnson, ambassador for World Wildlife Fund SA (WWFSA). During the livestream, viewers will have the opportunity to sign up to become a Global Citizen and help contribute to the Global Citizen Protect Our Planet initiatives.
