The handle is made of MOS bamboo, an environmentally sustainable timber. Bamboo is technically considered a member of the grass family that is not only incredibly abundant but is the fastest growing plant on earth too. The bamboo is cultivated between three to five years, and then harvested. It re-generates itself naturally, with minimal rain and without the need for harmful pesticides. In fact, by harvesting and using the bamboo, we help to control unwanted spread into agricultural and natural forest areas. The bamboo is grown by many local farmers (NOT PLANTATION).
The bamboo is heat treated to carbonise the surface of the bamboo, giving it a quality finish and good service life. The carbonisation finishing process provides water resistance and prevents the growth of microbes (bacteria and moulds) during normal use.
The bristles are made from a BPA FREE polymer resistant to microbial growth during normal use, to ensure safety and durability.
Disposing of your toothbrush
For best results, most dentist's recommend you replace your toothbrush either monthly or at least every quarter some even say use it until it stops.
To answer the main question, HOW LONG DOES IT LAST? - We test drove a toothbrush for over 8 months so yes they last (not that we suggest you do that).
The Environmental Toothbrush handle can be disposed of safely by returning it to earth in compost or landfill. The bamboo handle will biodegrade into soil without pollution, we suggest that you remove the bristles so as to safely and properly allow the bamboo handle to biodegrade.
China’s Giant Panda consumes the soft bamboo shoots, stems and leaves as its main food source. The Environmental Toothbrush honours this environmental mascot in the logo. Because bamboo is so abundant, sustainable and renewable our use does not impact on the food source of the Giant Panda in fact they do not like the MOSO bamboo.

One of the bristle sets also came out.09/12/2018, By TraceyLove that these are completely biodegradable, and the quality is great. However I find the bristles still a little hard. Saying that I am sure they will soften with time and I will be buying again25/09/2018, By LameseMy kids love it!!07/09/2018, By ElmoBought it for a friend that has sensitive gum, she loves it!12/08/2018, By AbigailThe bristles on this are very hard (and potentially damaging). Sweet size though the head is definitely big for a child's brush. Also make sure to let it dry properly so the bamboo doesn't get too dried out or get moldy.12/07/2018, By VashaI love the concept of a bamboo toothbrush, and psyched my 5 year old to use it too. The head however is way too large for her to effectively clean her teeth. I am now having to alternate her using her old plastic one, and the bamboo one, just to make sure she does a good job. Please consider making a smaller head on these. She absolutely loves her brush though, and has even personalized it by drawing on the handle10/07/2018, By DaphneSimple and effective26/04/2018, By VictoireMy children seem to like this toothbrush, although they chew the bristles and it ends up being very splayed very quickly! Love that it is biodegradable.05/04/2018, By Heatherthe kids love it and dont chew anymore. I make sure they respect it :)28/03/2018, By NicoleneVery practical little toothbrush! Great for adults too! Sml23/03/2018, By StephI love the concept and the bristles are just the right texture. The only reason it's not a 5 star review is that the bamboo has a weird taste and quality where it sticks to the inside of your mouth a bit. Takes some getting used to.19/02/2018, By HanlieSo gentle on your teeth and on the environment!30/01/2018, By DaphneThe kids love them, bristles are great and they are eco-friendly - perfect!30/01/2018, By DaphneThe kids love them, bristles are great and they are eco-friendly - perfect!21/01/2018, By BronwenI love teaching my child about the environmet and what better way than to get her to use this gorgeous little toothbrush that softly brushes her teeth, is small enough to hold and is made of sustainable bamboo.19/01/2018, By CRSoft and small just perfect15/12/2017, By ChristaMy kids love their brushes & its another great way to make them aware that we must take good care of our precious planet and how we can help to achieve that:-).08/12/2017, By LucindaI will never go back to plastic04/12/2017, By siriI use this for my toddler, as it's a great kid size and he likes having something a bit different and special to use. It's a simple brush, no tongue brush or other fancy stuff, but it's perfect for my toddler and I feel great him using a natural product.01/12/2017, By CarolineWithout any coaxing my 3.5 year old son promptly ditched his brightly coloured plastic shark-shaped toothbrush for this one. The simple, natural, light-weight design of this toothbrush genuinely appeals to us. Best of all is that we can compost everything!15/11/2017, By MarietaLove the idea of an eco friendly toothbrush, however the bristles were more medium/hard than soft. We could not get a good clean with it. Will unfortunately have to keep on using the shop bought ones until there is a better eco friendly product available.30/05/2017, By SharynEver since we learned about how much plastic sea turtles are consuming, we decided to cut down on plastic in any small ways we can. One easy way was with toothbrushes. Our kids love these even though they aren't bright pink or blue. We customized them by drawing little pictures on the bamboo handles.26/05/2011, By MelanieI think it was in my previous order I ordered the wooden toothbrushes for me and my son - both of us, LOVE our
toothbrushes! It feels as if cleanses and brushes much better that the traditional x-brands lol,
and even my son prefers the wooden one above his spider-man brush - and that must say a lot,
can you believe it lol?
