Toy Project aims to improve the lives of previously unemployed women one darn stitch at a time! Their quirky and fun toys are all made entirely by hand for unique and lovable creations made with colourful local Shweshwe material. A truly African range of special soft toys for your kiddies to love that are so funky you can use them as décor too. No two are identical and these little creatures are full of personality and adorable character. The project aims to provide women with a steady income and teach new skills that will grow and evolve into the future with common goals and shared resources.  

Toy Project currently have two dedicated workshops, one in Groenfontein Valley outside Calitzdorp, and the other at Wittedrift community outside Plettenberg Bay, where training and production takes place in a loving and supportive environment and each completed toy is paid for. Toy project is a social enterprise aimed at social upliftment and have been so successful that they are already self-funded.
