The Healing properties of Raw Cacao
- Magnesium Magnesium is the primarily mineral missing when heart problems occur. Magnesium increases the overall vigor of the heart muscle. This mineral also decreases blood coagulation thus lowering blood pressure and helping the heart pump more effectively. Cacao, of course, is a fantastic food source of heart-supporting magnesium.
- Antioxidants According to research cited in The New York Times, fresh cacao beans are super-rich in antioxidant flavonols. Cacao beans contain 10,000 milligrams (10 grams) per 100 grams of flavonol antioxidants. This is a whopping 10% antioxidant concentration level! This makes cacao one of the richest sources of antioxidants of any food.
- Anti-Depressant Properties Cacao is a great source of serotonin, dopamine, and phenylethylamine, three well-studied neurotransmitters, which help alleviate depression and are associated with feelings of well being. Cacao contains monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO Inhibitors) that improve our mood because they allow serotonin and dopamine to remain in the bloodstream longer without being broken down. Cacao contains anandamide which delivers blissful feelings. Cacao also contains B vitamins, which are associated with brain health. Cacao contains significant quantities of the amino acid tryptophan which is yet another powerful mood-enhancing nutrient. All this makes cacao a natural Anti-Depressant!
- Lose weight, eat chocolate! Anyone who eats chocolate knows that it diminishes appetite. There is evidence indicating MAOIs also diminish appetite. There is actually no scientific evedince to implicate chocolate consumption with obesity. In fact the reverse seems to be the case. Eating cacao helps one to loose weight by allowing you to eat less.
How to use Raw Cacao Butter:
Cacao Butter is the good fat or oil content of the Cacao Bean which has been cold pressed out of the bean.

I used it to make my own chocolate together with Cacao Paste. Also used it in baking as a butter substitute. Great for dairy free baking but as it contains less moisture you will need to reduce the amount by 15% and replace that amount with water in your recipe.
This is also the best product to thin chocolate for dipping!24/11/2016, By LalliNo contest.14/11/2015, By JacoThis cacao butter is really good, and there are so many uses for it.06/10/2015, By AdeleGreat for making your own health bars and I have also used it to make body butters, scrubs and soap alternatives. Sublime!20/11/2014, By SaskiaThe cocoa butter is great together with raw cocoa powder (and dates and nuts, etc.) to make your own chocolates. I recommend to buy the 1kg bag as it is better value for money. From the small bag I only get two loads of chocolate before its up. I recommend this for all the vegans and parents who want to give their kids a healthy treat.
Heres my choc recipe:
Melt cocoa butter together with dates (dried or fresh) in the pan. When cocoa butter is melted add to nuts in blender. Blend and put into bottom of cupcake tray. Youll get nice coin shaped chocolates.
I often add dried cranberries and buckwheat (after blending) for a crunchy taste.
You can use any nuts you like, I use cashews and almonds, but pistachios and macademias are also lovely depending on the flavor you want. If you soak the nuts for a night before blending you will get a nougat texture chocolate.
For added protein I add hemp seeds or even a little chocolate pea protein powder. You can also add macha root powder and so on.
