O'live
ZikhonaTefu is the founder, formulator, product developer and soap crafter at O’live Handmade Soaps. She started out on her soap crafting journey looking for natural alternatives that would help her daughter’s eczema. After much research her first batch of totally natural soap, free from cheap chemical laden ingredients, was created and she found to her delight that it did in fact help her daughter’s skin condition. Her soap soon took off with family and friends and soon O’live soaps was born.
O’live has a passion for local, ethically sourced and sustainable ingredients that are totally natural and where possible tries to forge mutually empowering and beneficial relationships with local farmers. They only started using the creamy luxury of palm oil in their products once they had found an eco-friendly source in West Africa, harvested and processed by empowered women. Their products are free from any chemicals, artificial colourants, artificial fragrances, parabens, hardeners or fillers and they love sourcing from the Cape Fynbos Kingdom. They also support a job creation initiative in Khayelitsha for women who crochet beautiful luxury products such as slippers and washcloths. O’live soaps are real – pure – natural – and smell divine!
