Buckwheat flour is a darker flour, ground to a powder from whole, dried buckwheat. Despite the name, buckwheat is naturally completely wheat and gluten free (provided it was not processed near wheat), and is home to a variety of minerals and key nutrients. It also contains the antioxidant rutin, which aids in circulation and helps prevent blood vessels from becoming blocked.

  • Naturally low in fat, and high in minerals like manganese, copper, iron, phosphorus and magnesium

  • Great used in combination with other flours, not in isolation (as it has no natural gluten for structure)

Flour is great but the packaging is not good and mine arrived in a box with other flours that had stiffer packaging so my Buckwheat flour was strewn all over the box.
I dont buy this brand anymore as the packaging is too tight and too thin!

Love using this as a flour substitute. It's also good for thickening soups and stews. I mainly use it for making my kids pancakes and as a thickener.
