Iron Blue is made using ingredients chemically synthesized from raw mineral ingredients and organic hydrocarbons.

Is Iron Blue Faithful to Nature?

Depends.

Iron Blue is found in many COSMOS approved, natural and organic makeup ranges. It can be manufactured safely using Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards using abundant mineral ingredients. We err, however, on the side of caution and don’t list any products intended for the lips which contain this ingredient.

Benefits: Why is Iron Blue Used?

Vibrant Colour

Iron Blue provides a very deep, intense blue colour to various products.

Straight Colour

Iron Blue is a straight colors, that means it has not been mixed or chemically reacted with any other substance.

Wide Application

Iron Blue is not only used in make up but also in fragrance formulations, cleansing products as well as sun and hair care products.

Mineral Make Up

Iron Blue is found in most colourful shades of mineral make up brands.

Iron Blue can be found in many certified natural, and organic makeup products including blush, eye liner, nail polish, and biodegradable glitter.

Iron Blue is made by oxidizing (under acidic conditions, with sodium dichromate) the precipitate which results from mixing solutions of ferrous sulfate and sodium ferrocyanide in the presence of ammonium sulfate. The oxidized product is filtered, washed, and dried.

The USFDA indicates that Iron Blue is not suitable for products applied to the lips but is permitted for use in lipsticks in Japan and the EU.
