Is Iron Blue Faithful to Nature?
Depends.
Iron Blue is found in many COSMOS approved, natural and organic makeup ranges. It can be manufactured safely using Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards using abundant mineral ingredients. We err, however, on the side of caution and don’t list any products intended for the lips which contain this ingredient.

Iron Blue is made by oxidizing (under acidic conditions, with sodium dichromate) the precipitate which results from mixing solutions of ferrous sulfate and sodium ferrocyanide in the presence of ammonium sulfate. The oxidized product is filtered, washed, and dried.
The USFDA indicates that Iron Blue is not suitable for products applied to the lips but is permitted for use in lipsticks in Japan and the EU.
