- By adding half a cup of Borax to your laundry load, you'll boost the cleaning power of your laundry detergent.

12/02/2025, By Lorraineone of the most basic cleaning products for laundry, upholstery and carpets. I've used it for years and am delighted that FtN now has it in stock. Also great to wash your pets bedding - it gets rid of any bugs and eggs. Just an important note: dissolve a few spoonsful in boiling water before adding to your washing machine, as adding raw borax could clog up and damage your machine
