Recycle First

The Goal is to assist individuals and businesses to leave Cape Town in a better place than we found it. Recycle First provides a service of collecting recyclable waste from homes and businesses and delivering these to recyclers who reprocess the material into other products. We RECYCLE so you don't have to!!

Recycle First does a monthly collection starting at R40 per month and they also do collections at businesses.

Mr Recycle is a Recyclable Material Collection Service catering for the Recycling needs of Domestic, Corporate and Commercial Venues. Collectively known as PlanetGUARDIANS, we are caring people who have chosen to take responsibility for our Recyclable Materials as a means of creating Sustainable Jobs for All Race, Gender and Class in South Africa. We also make monthly donations to Old Age Homes; Children’s Homes, SPCA and Animal Welfare through the project.

At a Monthly participation fee of R50, or a once-off Annual payment of R500, NO ONE has an excuse not to do the right thing for Our Earth and Our Community anymore.

Kool Waste Management

At a cost of only R40.00 per month, we will come and collect your waste (newspapers, magazines, glass bottles and jars, cans, food tins, ice cream containers, all paper, plastic bottles) on a weekly basis and deliver to the Oasis Association who will separate and pass on to the necessary recyclying companies for ongoing processing. We cover all areas in Cape Town

Oasis Association provides services for women , men and children with intellectual disability. These people have a need to be recognised in life and are actively involved in the process of assisting to ensure that our planet is saved!

Abundance Recycling

Abundance Recycling offers the unique service of collecting waste from the home on a weekly basis and delivering it to the Oasis Recycling Depot, where people with intellectual disabilities are given an opportunity to work and gain a sense of self worth. Many of the 365 adults currently working there are primary breadwinners. The project currently recovers 140 tons of waste per month, which is a substantial saving of landfill space.

Earth Green Recycling

For a small monthly fee, Earth Green services the greater Berea area by collecting paper, cardboard, glass, cans, tins, plastic and e-waste from you and taking to the relevant drop-off centres for recycling. Some of the items go to local community art projects for re-use.

Freecycle Network

The Freecycle Network™ is a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people around the world who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer. There are currently 10 Freecycle groups active in South Africa: Bloemfontein; Cape Town; Durban; East London Johannesburg; Knysna; Ladysmith; Pietermaritzburg; Port Elizabeth; and Pretoria.Go to the Freecycle website for details on how to join (or start) a group in your area.

Mr Recycle

Mr Recycle takes the bother out of recycling. They offer an independent recycle collection service to businesses and households in Gordon's Bay, Strand and Somerset West (Helderberg Basin, Western Cape). Glass, tin (cans), plastic, paper and cardboard are all recyclable and can be collected. Cost per household collection is R20; costs for collection from businesses vary.
