The samples are enough to do 2 crops in each jar so that you can get started right away and gauge the amount of seeds necessary to fill the jar with sprouts.
The sample seeds which could be included are alfalfa, mung, fenugreek, canola, brown lentils, chickpeas, green peas, Black urad and soybean. There is one sample pack per jar.

I would like to mention that I was stunned by the price markup on this site, from the price of the kit on Kitchen Garden's site. I went there to buy sprouting seeds and saw the price of their kits in the process, I wasn't looking for that. As I'd already bought the kit here without checking the product's site first. Either way you are supporting a good local business. I love ftn and usually find their prices to be fair and am always impressed by the quality of the service. The 1 litre jars are a decent size and even in winter the sprouts are ready in 5 days - I am guessing that in warmer weather the sprouting time will probably be about 3 days.
