Customer Note:
- Purple tea is derived from Camellia sinensis, the same plant as white, black, and Green Tea. A natural genetic mutation in the plants causes the leaves to turn purple, especially young leaves and stems. This mutation happens naturally and is not the result of genetic mutation through technological intervention. Anthocyanins in the leaves are responsible for the discolouration. Purple tea’s anthocyanins, composed of many phytochemicals, exhibit potential extraordinary health benefits. It is the same beneficial compound as found in Blueberries.

06/02/2025, By MichelleI just discovered Purple Tea, and I have to say, I’m impressed! It has a distinct, enjoyable flavor and a beautiful purple color. The Mint Purple Tea is especially refreshing and has quickly become my favorite. Definitely a great addition to my tea collection!13/01/2025, By sukiI was really disappointed to find that the “purple tea” in the tea bags is not actually real purple tea. The taste is exactly like green tea, which is odd because purple tea (though from the same plant) has a very distinct flavor. The color of the brew is also off—it’s greenish/blue, but true purple tea should brew a more purple or pink hue, sometimes even brown. When I opened the tea bag after brewing, all the leaves were green, except for a few butterfly pea flowers. Purple tea leaves, on the other hand, remain purple even after brewing, so it’s obvious that this is just green tea that’s been artificially colored. Very disappointing and not what I expected! Absolute scam.
