Hyaluronic Acid

Component of skin tissue

Hyaluronic Acid

Other Name(s):

Sodium Hyaluronate; Hyaluronic Acid Sodium Salt; hyaluronan; CAS# 9067-32-7

Hyaluronic Acid occurs naturally in many animal tissues and is also a natural byproduct of specific bacterial fermentation (Streptococcus equi, subsp. Zooepidemicus; mutant strain deriving from wild-type strain DSM no. 20727).

Is Hyaluronic Acid Faithful to Nature?

Yes.

Hyaluronic Acid is a natural ingredient which can be manufactured without harm to animals and without producing eco-toxic byproducts.

Benefits: Why is Hyaluronic Acid Used?

Collagen Boost

Hyaluronic Acid boost the natural production of collagen.

Anti-Ageing

Hyaluronic Acid reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Highly Moisturising

Hyaluronic Acid can hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water which makes it a top notch moisturiser for all skin types.

Calming Properties

Hyaluronic Acid is extremely gentle and thus, suited for all skin types, even sensitive and inflammation prone skin. it has a natural calming effect and therefore also highly beneficial for breakout-prone skin.

Hyaluronic Acid is found in anti-wrinkle serums, collagen boosting moisturisers, and lip plumping balms. As well as in supplement form.

Hyaluronic Acid is separated from the fermentation medium using ultra-fine filtration.

Hyaluronic Acid can be isolated from rooster combs but thankfully it is much more time consuming and expensive to do, so instead bacterial fermentation is the preferred method.

As we age our skin's content of hyaluronic acid drops, in our 20s and 30s we have twice as much hyaluronic acid in our skin than when we are in our 50s, by the time we reach 70 it has further dropped. Taking oral supplements of hyaluronic acid can componsate for this natural descrease.
