The handle is made of MOS bamboo, an environmentally sustainable timber. Bamboo is technically considered a member of the grass family. It is the fastest growing plant on earth, and incredibly abundant. The bamboo is cultivated for between three to five years, and then harvested. It re-generates itself naturally, with minimal rain and without the need for harmful pesticides. In fact, by harvesting and using the bamboo, we help to control unwanted spread into agricultural and natural forest areas. The bamboo is grown by many local farmers (NOT PLANTATION).
The bamboo is heat treated to carbonise the surface of the bamboo, giving it a quality finish and good service life. The carbonisation finishing process provides water resistance and prevents the growth of microbes (bacteria and moulds) during normal use.
The bristles are made from a polymer resistant to microbial growth during normal use, to ensure safety and durability.
We recommend you rinse and dry your toothbrush after use to keep it clean.
Disposing of your toothbrush
For best results, most dentist's recommend you replace your toothbrush either monthly or at least every quarter some even say use it until it stops.
To answer the main question, HOW LONG DOES IT LAST? - We test drove a toothbrush for over 8 months so yes they last (not that we suggest you do that).
The Environmental Toothbrush can be disposed of safely by returning it to earth in compost or landfill. Both the bamboo and bristles will biodegrade into soil, without pollution.
China’s Giant Panda consumes the soft bamboo shoots, stems and leaves as its main food source. The Environmental Toothbrush honours this environmental mascot in the logo. Because bamboo is so abundant, sustainable and renewable our use does not impact on the food source of the Giant Panda in fact they do not like the MOSO bamboo.

Occasionally I get one that loses bristles very quickly, but overall a great buy27/07/2017, By AlweriIf you have to go with a non-electric toothbrush - this is the one. Nice bristles and love that it is bio-degradable.18/07/2017, By KarenLove this toothbrush! Good for the planet & good for me. Win Win!!do yourself a favour, buy an environmental toothbrush, you wont be sorry ! While benefiting yourself you are also benefiting the environment.13/07/2017, By JuliaI'm loving this toothbrush ! It comfortable to hold and the bristles are fine enough to reach in between my teeth without being to hard and invasive on my gums.
I wish I had bought one long ago !13/07/2017, By SizweGood solid toothbrush. I have been using it for almost a month and I am one happy chap...:-)05/07/2017, By CourtneyBest eco friendly toothbrush on the market and the only one I use!20/06/2017, By RoxanneGreat to have a toothbrush that isn't contributing to overflowing landfills of plastic! Shape is a bit bulky (the head of the brush) but otherwise I'm sold.13/06/2017, By PheeGreat toothbrush. The medium is hard, so a soft is more like a medium. Must be able to drain and dry after use (not in a cup or jar). Would be great to have two shapes/sizes of the head as have a small mouth, but still manage to get into everywhere. Will never have a plastic one again.31/05/2017, By DesI've been using this toothbrush for a few weeks now and so far so good. I know that a number of people have experienced the bristles falling out, but mine is fine so far.26/04/2017, By JuanéBristles fell out in less than a month. Having bristles in your mouth and choking on it profusely - horrible :(24/04/2017, By JacintaWe love our Super cool toothbrushes & that its no plastic. Luv the 3 pack option, sometimes difficult to buy for a family of 5. But the three pack gives us a spare toothbrush to introduce someone else to this beautiful toothbrush;-) Also got some free toothpaste this time, absolute bonus.04/04/2017, By JennaId recommend ordering a few of these as they do wear out quicker than a regular toothbrush. Good to have a spare in the cabinet. Also, instead of storing them in a glass, leave them out to dry after use or the wood can get a little mouldy/discoloured.03/03/2017, By AndrewThe bristles started falling out in less than a month. May be a bad batch. The bristles of the medium are pretty hard too. I will try a soft and go from there.28/01/2017, By NadiaI used this toothbrush for approximately one week and the bristles started falling out as I brushed. I don brush very hard. Terrible! Was it just a bad batch?! Very disappointing...09/11/2016, By BiankaGreat toothbrush - definitely buying this over and over again.06/09/2016, By LorraineHubby and I both love this brush. It is dainty and tiny and gets into all those difficult places with ease.05/09/2016, By JessicaIt does what its supposed to do AND its environmental! I LOVE it - I want to show everyone my really cute, wooden toothbrush!01/09/2016, By SusanIt is a very nice toothbrush to use. Not harsh on my gums.29/08/2016, By CandiceTook some getting used to but I love that it is so natural and good for the environment...now I won feel so bad replacing my toothbrush every couple of months! Does the job well too,07/07/2016, By SarahGreat product! Affordable, works well and so much better for the environment. Thank you!23/03/2016, By AlexandraThis toothbrush is a joy to use; works well looks Beautiful02/02/2016, By Tanyalove this toothbrush will never buy a plastic one again!07/10/2015, By IllyanI purchased the Medium; the bristles were a little softer than Im used to but am still very happy with the brushing/cleaning they provide. If you like hard bristles I don think the medium will be hard enough for you, but it works great for me.27/07/2015, By RudolphBeen using these for eight months now - never again will I purchase a plastic toothbrush. It works great and just feels right.25/05/2015, By RachaelI agree with the other review that the medium feels hard so will probably also try soft next time. Ive no other complaints and will definitely be buying again.20/03/2015, By M. Paloma WernerI bought the medium toothbrush and like the look of it. However I found it still a little hard and will buy the soft one with my next purchase.15/06/2014, By MikaSoft, eco friendly and so cute...just don let it stand in a wet holder as mine did and the end of the handle got a little mildewey :) Been using my first one for 3 months now and don really think I need to replace it yet, but going to just to be safe...much cheaper than normal toothbrushes too!13/09/2011, By MasadiPleasantly surprised. I thought it would perhaps feel or taste funny (don't know why!) but I'm very happy. Great eco invention!23/07/2011, By MelanieI think it was in my previous order I ordered the wooden toothbrushes for me and my son - both of us, LOVE our
toothbrushes! It feels as if cleanses and brushes much better that the traditional x-brands lol,
and even my son prefers the wooden one above his spider-man brush - and that must say a lot,
can you believe it lol?29/06/2011, By SherranWe are really enjoying the eco-toothbrushes. We've had to write our names on them because there is no way of telling them apart, other than size, but they are comfortable to brush with and quite smart-looking too!
13/06/2011, By TracyAlso love my wooden toothbrush… finally a toothbrush that doesn’t hurt my teeth (or the environment)!
