Rwanda Mountain Tea (RMT) was established in 2006. Each cup of Rwanda Mountain Tea is a reflection of how much care is put into producing a premium single origin tea. Their gardeners hand-pick only the best leaves and taste the tea continuously during the process to ensure its optimal quality. RMT provides tea farmers with the necessary means, material resources and skills to ensure their green leaf production and its quality are improved. Kitabi, a brand under Rwanda Mountain Tea was also awarded the best black tea prize among 70 competing factories at the 2013 East African Tea convention held in Kigali. Care also extends to the communities surrounding RMT’s plantations. They are committed to improving the lives of local tea growers and their families through educational and healthcare initiatives. All the while respecting the land through responsible farming by putting great emphasis on environmental preservation and using tea only from fully Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms.
