Reyneke produce Ceres and Debio Certified Organic and Demeter Certified Biodynamic wines on their farm Uitzicht, overlooking Stellenbosch and False Bay. They work in a natural give and take relationship with the earth to bring it alive with a goodness that follows through to their wines, which are produced traditionally with minimal intervention. They believe in the old-fashioned way of wine making that was practiced when the farm was first founded - no chemicals, no technology. Their vineyards are herbicide, pesticide and fungicide free and you won’t find commercially cultivated yeast or bacteria, acid adjustments or fermentation aids in their wines either.

Reyneke aim to be as self-sustaining as they can, recycling and re-purposing wherever possible and in true biodynamic spirit work in harmony with the moon and study the constellations to create their wine-making alchemy. Companion planting and snail-loving ducks control their pests, and they avoid monoculture to foster a holistic vineyard environment in synergy with vegetable gardens, animal husbandry and people, as well as pockets of indigenous fynbos, participating in the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative. They asked their workers what they’d choose for their life and the answer was home ownership and education for their children, so the Cornerstone Project was founded to benefit their workers and families, rewarding them with their own homes and funding tertiary education.
