Incan berries are extremely rich in beneficial vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients, which is why they are often referred to as the ‘goji berries’ of South America. An evaluation published in the Journal of Medicinal Food 2009 found that Incan berries have potential anti-diabetes and antihypertensive properties, whilst another report published in Food Chemistry that same year, revealed that the ‘withanolides’ found in the Incan berry plant exhibit anticancer activity.

They make a great addition to breakfast bowls. I love their sweet and tart flavour. They are awesome to snack on too when having a sweet tooth.

I'd never heard of these berries before so I thought I'd try them. They are much sweeter than other berries, I prefer to add them to a smoothie instead of eating them as is.

I usually use mulberries as toppings on smoothie bowls but decided to give these try. They have a slightly sweet sour flavor that I really love. Worth trying.
