Not all coconuts are created equal... That is why only the best coconuts are chosen to become Coconut Bowls! As part of the emphasis on being a Fair-trade business, local farmers and sellers are paid FULL market price for the coconuts, so there are no middle-men or undercutting of prices.
Once chosen, the coconuts then undergo their lengthy transformation process, with skilled, local artisans from the community using a variety of techniques and tools to create the unique, finished product you see before you. As part of our deal, the local artisans also get to keep the meat and water from the coconut, in addition to their wages.
So when you buy a bowl, you are not just buying a beautiful product. You are literally putting food on another human being's table, enabling them to earn a living, and learn skills that they can apply for the rest of their life!
Caring for your bowls
Once purchased, we recommend you give the coconut bowl a wash with warm water, and a touch of sunlight soap. This should remove any residue coconut oil from the bowl, and will help minimise the coconut smell.
You can towel-dry the bowl, or leave the coconut bowl to dry upside down. Make sure no moisture is left over in the bowl before storing it, as this can be absorbed into the wood, and undermine the quality of the bowl.
If washed and dried properly, the coconut bowls will not perish for a very, very long time! And once they do, they can be added to the compost heap, or up-cycled to make beautiful planters, tea-lights, candle holders and much much more.
To restore the shine and lustre to your bowls, you can rub them with coconut oil once in a while. We also recommend giving the inside a light sanding with very fine sand-paper (180 or 200 grit sandpaper is perfect) every once in a while as well. This can be done before rubbing it in coconut oil.

19 out of 20 people would recommend this product04/02/2019, By KiRoI ordered 4 large bowls. The bowls are smaller than expected and 1 in particular is visibly a different size- much smaller than the rest. So the sizes seem very inconsistent. Perhaps a diameter range when sorting and classifying and also on the site when purchasing would give a more accurate idea of the purchase.09/01/2019, By CamThe bowl is exactly what I was looking for and the delivery was professional and speedy! Will definitely be ordering more.02/01/2019, By ChanebayI was very happy to receive them I only wish you would also sell coconut spoons that I can use with the coconut bowl to make insta worthy smoothie bowls !02/01/2019, By ChanebayIt is a great size and looks rustic02/01/2019, By ChanebayThey are so imperfect (no 2 are alike) which I love it makes them unique.23/12/2018, By EmilyThe bowl itself is gorgeous, and I read up on the sourcing of the bowls and it turns out they really support the people who make them: not only are they taught a useful skill, they get to keep the coconut flesh and milk in addition to being paid per bowl. Ethical and sustainable business model. :)
A note on sizing: I assumed the large one would be big enough to serve a group meal in, turns out it’s the size of a single serving bowl dish. Have no idea how the smaller sizes would even be useful! Maybe the smallest one would be suitable for dips?
Looking back now, I realize that the sizes depend on coconut sizes because the bowls are literally each made from the coconut shell itself. I kind of assumed that they somehow mashed the stuff up to make bigger bowls. So it’s really understandable with their method in mind! Still wonderfully beautiful bowls.11/11/2018, By AlisonSmaller than I expected! I would recommend small for a bit of yoghurt and fruit, med for smoothie (ice cream sized bowl).07/11/2018, By LindseyVery cute bowls but definitely smaller than what they seem online.29/10/2018, By CeliaWhile these bowls are really lovely, I again feel that the pictures on the website don't sell them well. I ordered the medium which I thought would be a good enough size for soup, but now realise that I should have rather ordered the large.18/10/2018, By DominiqueStylish! Super cute.11/10/2018, By raganiSo pretty, great for dips or tropical drinks.27/09/2018, By DebbieThis bowl is so pretty, and I can't wait to make beautiful smoothies in it.22/08/2018, By CarienI bought the medium size but they were much smaller than I was hoping for so just buy the large size when you buy and remember don't put them in the dishwasher and treat them with coconut oil to keep them in good condition.18/08/2018, By LieslMy daughter begged me for one of these and I must say I was very pleasantly surprised!! She loves it and uses it every day for her fruit etc. Will definitely be ordering more of these.
28/07/2018, By And Then There Was FoodI love my beautiful new coconut bowl. It's quite strong. I might have expected the small to be a bit bigger but it's great for my oats and smoothie bowl. I'm getting more!12/07/2018, By Gracelove love love25/05/2018, By JudyReally love my Coconut bowls.
Just disappointed after having called yesterday requesting the 2 bowls
be similar in shape as possible as I wanted to make a set .I was requested to use the comment field on the order form to request this ,which I did.
Sadly my request was not carried out09/04/2018, By LindiThis product came to me smelling of rotten milk or something. The stink is unbearable. The supplier contacted me with some tips on what to wash it with, none of which worked. I can now not use these bowls I paid for. The "extra large" bowls are also much smaller than I was expecting.03/04/2018, By ashleybrownsaReally love these coconut bowls, I bought 4, I have two pairs that match each other. They're sanded below for some stability but in the end, it is made from a coconut. Be sure to follow the cleaning instructions, I also tend to 'treat' the washed & dried bowl with a thin layer of coconut oil to keep it water resistant.10/03/2018, By SelmaI love these natural bowls. Beautiful and quirky. Just remember that they are round on the bottom, so be careful with liquids. And the sizes vary significantly. I bought two large ones and one was cut deep and the other shallow. So I cannot really use them together. But maybe I'll buy two more and get lucky with similar sizes.
