The pouch is made from Silicone which is actually made from sand. The polymers used to bind the silicone together are natural, not chemical or synthetic based. Because there are no chemicals and the “Ingredients” are natural, there sometimes is a tendency for the pouch to take on the smell of the foods or liquids used. This eventually goes away with use and as the silicone becomes accustomed to different food products.
The plastic top is polypropylene, the material that does not contain BPA or Phthalates. These Squeasy Snackers have passed the strict European and US guidelines that have come into effect after the BPA scare of 10 years ago.

I hate the sound of a bottle being thrown on the floor and this is quiet and so easy for them to hold from young. I have made purees in this as well and it works just as well. I lost the one on an outing and ordering again as I cannot go without this.01/10/2017, By ClovaLove these for handy on the go containers to hold baby's first foods. Just make the purees etc at home and fill them up. Nice wide top and can remove the part which reduces liquid spillage if have lumpier food :)
