The ingredients explained
Marine collagen - The dried collagen is sourced from the flesh and scales of fresh water fish, valued for its high amino acid content. Amino acids are the precursors of important body proteins, including collagen and elastin. With the unique ability to feed our cells from within this ingredient helps skin regeneration and promotes the growth of healthy cells. By consuming marine collagen we are providing the building blocks required to maintain the collagen-containing tissues within our body.
Grapeseed extract – is good for all conditions involving the breakdown of collagen e.g. premature ageing as it inhibits enzymes involved in the destruction of collagen. Its strong antioxidant action helps to protect the skin from free radical damage. Grapeseed extract has been shown to improve capillary permeability and strength so it helps to tone and tighten your skin.
Vitamin C - plays a major role in the formation of healthy collagen within our body where it works within the cells to help repair tissues, stabilise collagen structures and exert antioxidant effects. A deficiency can disrupt collagen production and lead to a wide variety of disorders.
Colloidal Silica - Silica is a mineral found in large concentrations within our connective tissues, skin, hair, nails, and in our bones. It helps keep these structures strong and resilient therefore promoting healthy skin that looks great. Silica plays a role in collagen formation as it is necessary for the proper activity of the enzymes required for collagen synthesis
Evening Primrose Oil - The rich amounts of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) provided by Evening Primrose oil (EPO) are found within the delicate membrane surrounding each of our cells. When taken regularly EPO helps maintain healthy skin cells and keep the signs of ageing to a minimum.
Zinc - Often referred to as the “clean-up enzyme”, Zinc plays a vital role in tissue healing and wound repair where it helps with the removal of damaged tissues, and is important for the healthy division of new cells. Zinc is also necessary for the binding of the collagen fibres onto the supportive network of proteins that form our connective tissue layer within the skins dermis. If Zinc levels are low the process of skin rejuvenation may be slow or halt altogether. Zinc is also an antioxidant, protecting cells against free radical damage.
Adults: Take 2 tablets daily with food for first 3 months. After 3 months, dose can be reduced to 1 tablet daily as a maintenance dose.
