It has a bit more substance than a lot of the ingredients in a veggie-based curry, and just has an amazing meat-like texture while most vegetables get very soft when overcooked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I then had it on a burger, in tacos, fresh and sweet, battered and deep-fried like fish, and the love affair only grew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a lovely, simple, and fresh Asian twist recipe that we really enjoyed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>2 healthy bread rolls<\/li><li>1 tin young green <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/catalogsearch\/result\/?q=jackfruit+\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"jackfruit (opens in a new tab)\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">jackfruit<\/span><\/a><\/li><li>2 TBS spicy Asian plum sauce<\/li><li>1 cup shredded cabbage and veg<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Place a pan on a medium heat with a little oil and allow to heat up. Open a tin of jackfruit and drain the water\/oil off. Put the jackfruit in the pan and use a spoon to break up the pieces so that they become shredded.<\/li><li>I like the fry mine on a high heat so that some pieces get nice and crispy and others stay soft.<\/li><li>Once you have some beautiful crispy pieces add in the sauce and stir around.<\/li><li>Sppon this onto a bun, topped with crunchy fresh cabbage and any other crispy veg you like (I added some strips of snap peas in here too).<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>For the salad<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>3 heads baby gem lettuce<\/li><li>\u00bc cup <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"tahini (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/catalogsearch\/result\/?q=tahini\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">tahini<\/span><\/a><\/li><li>3 TBS white <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"sesame seeds (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/faithful-to-nature-sesame-seeds-400g\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">sesame seeds<\/span><\/a><\/li><li>Half a lemon<\/li><li>Pinch <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"sea salt (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/himalayan-coarse-salt\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">sea salt<\/span><\/a><\/li><li>Drizzle of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"olive oil (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/willow-creek-director-s-reserve-extra-virgin-olive-oil\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">olive oil<\/span><\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Wash your lettuce and slice them in half lengthways.
