{"id":29671,"date":"2018-06-26T07:35:13","date_gmt":"2018-06-26T05:35:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/blog\/?p=29671"},"modified":"2018-06-27T14:25:15","modified_gmt":"2018-06-27T12:25:15","slug":"date-syrup-sesame-oil-dark-chocolate-biscuits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/blog\/date-syrup-sesame-oil-dark-chocolate-biscuits\/","title":{"rendered":"Date Syrup, Sesame Oil and Dark Chocolate Biscuits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Makes \u00b124<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>120g <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/natura-light-muscovado-sugar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Muscovado sugar<\/a> (plus extra for dusting)<\/li>\n<li>80ml toasted sesame oil<\/li>\n<li>1 large, free-range egg<\/li>\n<li>240g <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/truefoods-cold-pressed-sesame-oil\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">self-raising flour<\/a><\/li>\n<li>3 TBSP <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/almond-breeze-unsweetened-almond-milk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">almond milk<\/a><\/li>\n<li>pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>85g <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/silan-date-syrup-400g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Silan Natural Date Syrup<\/a><\/li>\n<li>100g good quality <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/cocoafair-85-dark-chocolate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dark chocolate<\/a>, chopped roughly<\/li>\n<li>2TBSP <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/by-nature-organic-sesame-seeds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">white sesame seeds<\/a> (plus extra for sprinkling)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>METHOD<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Heat oven to 180\u030aC.<\/li>\n<li>Whisk Muscovado sugar and sesame oil until lighter in colour and air-rated (\u00b18mins at high speed on a stand-up mixer).<\/li>\n<li>Crack the egg into the mixture and mix well. It will turn a creamy colour.<\/li>\n<li>Sift the flour and salt and combine with the wet ingredients. Add the Silan Natural Date Syrup and sesame seeds.<\/li>\n<li>Fold through the chocolate.<\/li>\n<li>Line a baking tray and, using a 1tsp measuring spoon, dole out the batter onto the baking sheet. Leave 3cm between dollops.
