When this chakra is in balance we feel grounded, strong and secure and have a sense of inner security that allows us to trust in the universe.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe Root chakra is also associate with the colour red and eating red foods which are commonly high in vitamin C. So in this recipe I have used red sweet potato, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/truefoods-red-kidney-beans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kidney beans<\/a> and pomegranate as our red foods, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/komati-organic-amaranth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amaranth<\/a> &#8211; an ancient earth grain, black cumin and zaatar mix, all from Faithful to Nature.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>Serves 4<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><strong>INGREDIENTS:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>4 medium red sweet potatoes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>STUFFING:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>1 small red onion<\/li>\n<li>1 clove black garlic (you can use regular garlic too &#8211; but black garlic has a beautiful earthy flavour)<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 red pepper<\/li>\n<li>100ml dry <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/komati-organic-amaranth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">amaranth<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Glug olive oil<\/li>\n<li>1 cup baby spinach<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/good-life-organic-black-pepper-grinder\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">black pepper<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/himalayan-fine-salt-shaker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">salt<\/a><\/li>\n<li>250g <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/truefoods-red-kidney-beans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kidney beans<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/good-life-organic-black-cumin-seeds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">black cumin<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>SAUCE AND GARNISH<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>20 mls <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/biona-creamed-coconut-organic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">coconut cream<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1 ripe avocado<\/li>\n<li>Half a pomegranate<\/li>\n<li>1 Tablespoon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/kishmish-lebonese-za-atarr-dip-mix\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lebanese Zaatar<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>METHOD<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Poke some holes into your sweet potatoes and wrap them in tin foil and pop them into the coals of your fire (braai) otherwise put them in the oven in their skin at 220 degrees Celsius until they&#8217;re cooked.<\/li>\n<li>Bring 3 cups of water to boil on the stove and add the amaranth and cook until it&#8217;s soft but has a little crunchy &#8211; like quinoa.<\/li>\n<li>Once that&#8217;s cooked, drain the water and put the amaranth in a bowl. In the pot glug in some olive oil and add the finely chopped onion, garlic and red pepper.
