Wait; what do you mean, \u201ceggnog is chilled\u201d?\u00a0Once I\u2019d been convinced (after a bit of suspicious Googling) that eggnog was, in fact, traditionally a chilled drink, I was inspired to concoct a vegan eggnog version of my favourite creamy childhood drink. Turns out it&#8217;s delicious in summer. Who\u2019d have thunk?<\/p>\n<p>Oh; everyone. Right.<\/p>\n<p>If you are able to, I hope you\u2019ll plan ahead and make your own nut milk. It\u2019s easier than you think. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/amy-zing-3-in-1-almond-nut-milk-bag\">Nut milk bags<\/a> are great, but if you have a muslin cloth or piece of netting lying around, use \u2018em rather than procrastinate. For an especially lovely boost of flavour, buy whole nutmeg and finely grind or grate it as you need. Remember to deeply breathe that aroma in; it\u2019s heady and addictive, and I\u2019m betting you\u2019ll never go back to pre-ground.<\/p>\n<p><em>P.S. Mom, your cockles-warming eggnog was always the best!<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<p>Makes 4 medium-sized glasses<\/p>\n<p>3 cups cashew or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/almond-breeze-unsweetened-almond-milk\">almond nut milk<\/a><br \/>\n\u00bd cup <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/good-life-organic-coconut-milk\">coconut milk<\/a><br \/>\n\u00be cup &#8211; 1 cup <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/chaloner-maple-syrup-grade-a-organic-dark-delicious\">maple syrup<\/a><br \/>\n1 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/vanilla-man-vanilla-pods\">vanilla pod<\/a><br \/>\n\u00bd tsp nutmeg, freshly grated or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/kalyan-organic-ground-nutmeg\">pre-ground nutmeg<\/a><br \/>\n\u00bd tsp <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/kalyan-organic-ground-cinnamon\">ground cinnamon<\/a><br \/>\n\u00bc tsp <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/good-life-organic-clove-powder\">ground cloves<\/a><br \/>\n1 tsp ground <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/good-life-organic-cardamom-pods\">cardamom<\/a><br \/>\n\u00bc cup <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/by-nature-raw-cashews\">cashews<\/a>, soaked overnight (optional, but yummy)<br \/>\nPinch of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/himalayan-fine-salt-shaker\">salt<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Method:<\/h2>\n<p>1. Scrape the seeds from the vanilla pod*, and put them \u2013 along with the other ingredients \u2013 into a high-speed blender.<br \/>\n2. Blend together until smooth and creamy.<br \/>\n3. Add maple syrup to taste and blend again.<br \/>\n4.
