You can also flavour this<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vegetariantimes.com\/recipe\/soups-and-stews\/\"> soup <\/a>with curry powder, dried thyme, or paprika in place of the ground cumin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You Will Need to Serve 8:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(Prep time is 30 minutes or less)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 Tbs. <a title=\"organic olive oil\" href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Olive-Pride-Organic-Extra-Virgin-Olive-Oil-p-2876.html\" target=\"_blank\">olive oil<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1 large red onion, finely chopped (2 cups)<\/li>\n<li>3 cloves garlic, minced (1 Tbs.)<\/li>\n<li>1\u00bd cups <a title=\"organic red lentils\" href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Komati-Organic-Red-Lentils-p-3102.html\" target=\"_blank\">red lentils<\/a><\/li>\n<li>2 Tbs. <a title=\"ground cumin powder\" href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Kalyan-Cumin-Powder-p-3915.html\" target=\"_blank\">ground cumin<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1 15-oz. can chopped tomatoes with liquid<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbs. <a title=\"raw honey\" href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Simply-Bee-Fynbos-Honey-p-4237.html\" target=\"_blank\">honey<\/a><\/li>\n<li>3 bay leaves<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbs. <a title=\"organic red wine vinegar\" href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Good-Life-Organic-Red-Wine-Vinegar-p-2725.html\" target=\"_blank\">red wine vinegar<\/a><\/li>\n<li>\u00bd cup plain low-fat yogurt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Make:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Heat oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and saut\u00e9 5 minutes, or until soft. Stir in red lentils and cumin, and cook 1 minute, or until cumin is fragrant and lentils are coated with oil. Stir in tomatoes with liquid, honey, bay leaves, and 7 cups water. Season with salt and pepper, and bring to a boil.<\/p>\n<p>2. Cover pan, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer 20 minutes, or until lentils are soft and falling apart, and soup is thick. Add a little water to thin soup, if necessary.
