It cleans, deodorises, removes stains and softens fabrics.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2589ae; font-weight: bold;\">Cornstarch:<\/span> Starches clothes, absorbs oil and grease.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2589ae; font-weight: bold;\">Lemon Juice:<\/span> This dynamic fruit cuts through grease and removes perspiration and other stains from clothing. It is also a great bleach alternative.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2589ae; font-weight: bold;\">Salt (sodium chloride):<\/span> Salt can be used as an abrasive.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2589ae; font-weight: bold;\">Organic Toothpaste:<\/span> Toothpaste is also a mild abrasive.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2589ae; font-weight: bold;\">Vinegar (acetic acid):<\/span> Cuts grease, removes stains and is an excellent water softener.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2589ae; font-weight: bold;\">Washing soda (sodium carbonate):<\/span> Cleans clothes, softens water, cuts grease and disinfects. It also increases the cleaning power of soap.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2589ae; font-weight: bold;\">Olive Oil:<\/span> Great as a natural wood polish.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2589ae; font-weight: bold;\">Borax (sodium borate):<\/span> This is a natural mineral that kills mold and bacteria. It is an alternative to bleach and it deodorizes, removes stains and boosts the cleaning power of soap. Please note that although it is a natural ingredient, it does need to be handled with care and kept away from pets and children.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2589ae; font-weight: bold;\">Herbs and Essential Oils:<\/span> A wide variety of essential oils can be used for disinfecting and fragrance. For example, the following essential oils are great for around the home:<\/p>\n<div class=\"ArticleText\" style=\"border: 2px dashed #2589ae; margin: 0px 0px 10px 0px; padding: 10px;\">\n<p><a class=\"UnderlineLink\" style=\"color: #028d4d;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Soil-Citronella-Essential-Oil-p-268.html\" target=\"_blank\">Citronella Essential Oil<\/a> &#8211; Commonly used as an air freshener or as an insect repellent.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"UnderlineLink\" style=\"color: #fbb700;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Soil-Lemon-Essential-Oil-p-272.html\" target=\"_blank\">Lemon Essential Oil<\/a> &#8211; Can also be used in the home to clean and deodorise.
