Here\u2019s a simple way to make your own homemade yoghurt brimming with tons of tummy-loving probiotics. Homemade yoghurt gives you the option to go for either a Dairy or Vegan pot of cultured health bliss, so don\u2019t be shy to turn your hand at this simple domestic alchemy. Perfect as a healthy breakfast, dessert or between-meal snack. It\u2019s easier than you think.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Yoghurt needs a starter, which consists of microbes that grow in your milk to transform it into yoghurt by helping it coagulate and creating lactic acid that curdles the milk. That&#8217;s where the sour, tart taste comes from. An easy trick is to use a good probiotic capsule as a starter.<\/p>\n<h2>Raw Nut &amp; Chia Yoghurt<\/h2>\n<p>Here is a Vegan dairy-free option that is full of the creamy goodness of raw nuts and some super-nutritious chia seeds:<\/p>\n<h2>You will need:<\/h2>\n<div style=\"width: 204px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Severin-Yoghurt-Maker-p-7206.html\" target=\"_blank\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"product_thumbnail\" class=\"ProductThumb\" src=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/images\/P\/sku7206-severin-yoghurt-maker-large.jpg\" alt=\"Severin Yoghurt Maker\" width=\"194\" height=\"267\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Severin Yoghurt Maker<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Blender<br \/>\nCheesecloth (or nut milk bag)<br \/>\nA glass bowl<br \/>\nOne <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/The-Real-Thing-PRO-Probiotic-Vegicaps-p-3222.html\" target=\"_blank\">probiotic capsule<\/a><br \/>\nWooden or plastic spoon<br \/>\nClean towel<br \/>\nNote: don\u2019t use any metal tools, probiotics don\u2019t like metal very much<\/p>\n<h2>For the Yoghurt:<\/h2>\n<p>1 1\/2 cups raw <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/By-Nature-Organic-Almonds-p-3085.html\" target=\"_blank\">almonds<\/a><br \/>\n1\/2 cup raw<a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/By-Nature-Raw-Cashews-p-5253.html\" target=\"_blank\"> cashews <\/a>(or macadamias)<br \/>\n3 cups pure water<br \/>\n1 tablespoon <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/search.php?mode=search&amp;scat=400\" target=\"_blank\">raw honey<\/a> 1\/4 cup <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Superfoods-Organic-Chia-Seeds-Omega-3-Power-Food-p-1817.html\" target=\"_blank\">Chia seeds<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>How to:<\/h2>\n<div style=\"width: 165px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/By-Nature-Organic-Almonds-p-3085.html\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"product_thumbnail\" class=\"ProductThumb\" src=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/images\/W\/sku3085-by-nature-raw-almonds-large.jpg\" alt=\"By Nature Organic Almonds\" width=\"155\" height=\"214\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Organic Almonds<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u2022 Soak almonds and cashews in pure water for 8-12 hours<br \/>\n\u2022 Rinse well<br \/>\n\u2022 Put in the blender and add 3 cups of pure water and blend until super smooth<br \/>\n\u2022 Strain through a cheesecloth (or milk nut bag) into a glass or ceramic bowl\u2014make sure you really squish all the liquid out the pulp<br \/>\n\u2022 Open the probiotic capsule and sprinkle into your milk<br \/>\n\u2022 Stir with a sterilised wood or plastic spoon<br \/>\n\u2022 Cover with towel and put in a cosy warm spot in the kitchen but not in direct sunlight<br \/>\n\u2022 Leave it for 24 hours so it can chat to itself and culture<br \/>\n\u2022 Then give is a good stir and taste it (remember no metal spoon). It should taste sour like yogurt.
