Last month<br \/>\nwe looked at natural ways to get rid of pests. This month we\u2019ve got recipes for natural all purpose cleaners, carpet stain removers and even shoe deodorisers!<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding: 0px; margin: 15px 0px 13px; color: #f38f19; font-size: 15px; width: 100%; border-bottom: 1px solid #f38f19;\">Carpets &amp; Upholstery<\/h2>\n<p class=\"ArticleText\" style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 8px 0px;\"><strong>Stains:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"TipList\">\n<li>A great non-toxic carpet stain remover is soda water. Soak spot immediately with soda and blot until the stain is gone.<\/li>\n<li>For pet stains dab the area with towelling to absorb as much urine as possible. Then wash the spot with an<a class=\"UnderlineLink\" style=\"color: #2555ad;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Earthsap-Dishwashing-Liquid-p-397.html\" target=\"_blank\">organic liquid dish detergent<\/a>,  and<br \/>\nrinse with 1\/2 cup vinegar diluted in 1 qt warm water. Then lay down towels over the spot to absorb excess moisture. Let it stand for 4 to 6 hours, then remove the towel, brush up and allow to dry completely.<\/li>\n<li>Red wine stains can be removed from your carpet by rubbing baking soda into the stain and then vacuuming afterwards.<\/li>\n<li>To remove grease spots from carpets, first sop up the liquid with a sponge, then rub a liberal amount of baking soda into the spot. Let it absorb overnight. On the next day, remove the excess and vacuum the area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ArticleText\" style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 10px 0px 8px 0px;\"><strong>Carpet Freshener:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To make a great carpet freshener, you need:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"TipList\">\n<li>4 cups baking soda or cornstarch<\/li>\n<li>35 drops <a class=\"UnderlineLink\" style=\"color: #2555ad;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Soil-Eucalyptus-Essential-Oil-p-269.html\" target=\"_blank\">Eucalyptus essential oil<\/a><\/li>\n<li>30 drops <a class=\"UnderlineLink\" style=\"color: #2555ad;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Soil-Lavender-Essential-Oil-p-271.html\" target=\"_blank\">Lavender essential oil<\/a><\/li>\n<li>25 drops <a class=\"UnderlineLink\" style=\"color: #2555ad;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Soil-Rose-Geranium-Essential-Oil-p-278.html\" target=\"_blank\">Rose Geranium essential oil <\/a><\/li>\n<li>or any combination of your favorite essentail oils<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Then, measure 4 cups of baking soda into a bowl and add your essential oils. Break up any clumps that form, and stir until well mixed. Before vacuuming sprinkle the powder from a shaker type can or jar. Let it sit on the carpet for about 15 minutes and then vacuum.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding: 0px; margin: 15px 0px 13px; color: #0c7305; font-size: 15px; width: 100%; border-bottom: 1px solid #0c7305;\">Shoe Deodorizer<\/h2>\n<p>To make a natural shoe deodorizer you need:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"TipList\">\n<li>6 Tbsp Cornstarch<\/li>\n<li>3 Tbsp Baking Soda<\/li>\n<li>20 drops <a class=\"UnderlineLink\" style=\"color: #2555ad;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Soil-Rosemary-Essential-Oil-p-279.html\" target=\"_blank\">Rosemary essential oil<\/a><\/li>\n<li>20 drops <a class=\"UnderlineLink\" style=\"color: #2555ad;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Soil-Tea-Tree-Essential-Oil-p-280.html\" target=\"_blank\">Tea Tree essential oil<\/a><\/li>\n<li>5 drops <a class=\"UnderlineLink\" style=\"color: #2555ad;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Soil-Lemon-Essential-Oil-p-272.html\" target=\"_blank\">Lemon essential oil<\/a><\/li>\n<li>5 drops <a class=\"UnderlineLink\" style=\"color: #2555ad;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Soil-Clove-Essential-Oil-p-657.html\" target=\"_blank\">Clove essential oil<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Then mix all the ingredients and rub 1-2 tablespoons in each shoe. Allow the powder to sit in your shoe overnight.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding: 0px; margin: 15px 0px 13px; color: #b87b1b; font-size: 15px; width: 100%; border-bottom: 1px solid #b87b1b;\">All Purpose Cleaners<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"TipList\">\n<li>Mix vinegar and salt together for a good surface cleaner<\/li>\n<li>For a general, all-purpose cleaner, try a paste made from baking soda and water or mix salt and water with a little vinegar.<\/li>\n<li>Alternatively, to make a natural all purpose cleaner spray, use 3 tbsp. vinegar, 1\/2 tsp. baking soda, 1\/2 tsp. of a<br \/>\n<a class=\"UnderlineLink\" style=\"color: #2555ad;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Hemporium-Liquid-Soap-p-229.html\" target=\"_blank\">natural vegetable oil<br \/>\nbased liquid soap<\/a> and 2 cups of hot water. Mix all of the ingredients in a spray bottle or a bucket.
