Most vegan cheese is made using nuts like macadamias or cashews; or alternatively made with soy. For those with nut and soy allergies who want to stick to a vegan diet, this can pose a problem. So we&#8217;re really excited to have tracked down this 100% nut-free, soy-free AND vegan-friendly cheese recipe &#8211; it&#8217;s surprisingly easy to make too. Try it out and enjoy your delish vegan cheese sliced or shredded.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>2 cups <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Health-Connection-Organic-Sunflower-Seeds-p-1244.html\" target=\"_blank\">sunflower seeds<\/a>,\u00a0soaked<\/li>\n<li>1\u00bd cup\u00a0filtered water<\/li>\n<li>2\u00bdTbsp lemon juice<\/li>\n<li>3Tbsp <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Good-Life-Organic-Dijon-Mustard-p-992.html\" target=\"_blank\">mustard<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1Tbsp <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Health-Connection-Organic-Apple-Cider-Vinegar-p-1223.html\" target=\"_blank\">apple cider vinegar<\/a><\/li>\n<li>3tsp <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Health-Connection-Organic-Agave-Syrup-p-6165.html\" target=\"_blank\">agave nectar<\/a><\/li>\n<li>\u00bc cup\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Health-Connection-Nutritional-Yeast-p-1209.html\" target=\"_blank\">nutritional yeast<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1-2tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>1tsp <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Good-Life-Organic-Onion-Flakes-p-4642.html\" target=\"_blank\">onion flakes<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Good-Life-Organic-Onion-Powder-p-2718.html\" target=\"_blank\">granules<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1tsp <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Good-Life-Organic-Garlic-Powder-p-1188.html\" target=\"_blank\">garlic powder<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1tsp <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Kalyan-Cumin-Powder-p-3915.html\" target=\"_blank\">ground cumin<\/a><\/li>\n<li>\u00bdtsp <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Kalyan-Organic-Turmeric-p-4968.html\" target=\"_blank\">turmeric<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1 cup filtered water<\/li>\n<li>1\u00bdTbsp\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithful-to-nature.co.za\/Earth-Products-Agar-Powder-p-4100.html\" target=\"_blank\">agar powder<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><em><strong>To make your cheese base:<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Drain &amp; rinse the sunflower seeds. \u00a0Place in a high-powered blender.<\/li>\n<li>Add the 1\u00bd cup water, lemon juice, mustard,\u00a0vinegar, agave, nutritional yeast, salt, onion granules &amp; spices. \u00a0Blend until thick &amp; creamy, scraping down the sides of the blender as you go.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><em><strong>To make agar gel for binding:<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Make the agar gel once the cheese base is blended.<\/li>\n<li>Bring 1 cup of water to a light boil in a small saucepan. Add the agar.<\/li>\n<li>Stir or whisk continuously until the agar had dissolved. \u00a0This can take several minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><em><strong>Put it all together:<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Start the blender again &amp; drizzle the agar gel slowly into the cheese mixture.
