Over time, silver jewellery or utensils becomes oxidized as a result of a chemical reaction with sulphur-containing substances present in the air, which results in that darkened, or tarnished, finish on your old treasures. \u00a0But you can reverse the oxidation process and return your silver to its original, shiny condition without investing in special chemicals, cleaners or tools.<\/p>\n

All you need is some aluminium foil; a dash of salt and one cup of baking soda.<\/p>\n

Put hot water into a pan lined with the foil. Add the baking soda and salt and stir to dissolve.\u00a0 Place the silver one at a time into the water and the natural chemical reaction will effortlessly dissolve the tarnish.<\/p>\n
