I hope you are enjoying reading this monthly edition as much I do writing it. Have I told you how passionate I am about finding natural products that work…? 😉 So without further ado – here are my top picks for August:

Love how simple the ingredients are and how intelligent a product this really is. It gives me full day protection, even during stressful and busy days. I expect it will last an age and its small size makes it very practical for travelling.

Skin Creamery Everyday All Over Cream

R255
Skin Creamery is currently my number one choice of gift for my girlfriends. It comes so stylishly packaged and the product’s efficacy is truly world-class. It absorbs well, has a subtle neutral scent and really makes your skin feel amazing.

My body-type needs me to graze constantly, and finding snacks on the go that are not rich in natural sugar and carbohydrates is also a challenge. That is, until I found these natural little magic-makers. Nori is a superfood that will give you your much-needed daily dose of iodine, and is also nature’s energy booster, containing loads of vitamins and minerals like taurine and vitamin B12. It’s a great way to keep your energy elevated during the day!

Superfoods Wildcrafted Chaga Mushrooms

Known as “the king of plants” or “the diamond of the forest” Chaga has actually changed my life. I had a live blood analysis done a couple of months ago and my blood showed small but present levels of parasites and candida. I have recently had my blood tested again after drinking Chaga tea for two months, and there is no trace of either. A naturopath put me onto the Chaga tea for this reason and I swear by it. It has loads of other health-giving properties which just makes it a no-brainer for me. The taste of the tea is very pleasant.

It looks good enough to buy for beauty alone, but this little gadget is not just a pretty face. As you’ve just read, I love my Chaga tea, and of all the tea strainers I tried this is hands down the most effective one.

My whole family loves this – it has a great nutty taste and I use it because it is one of the most digestible, least allergenic and most alkaline grains around. Plus it is a great source of vitamin B and iron – great for us vegetarians!

I love this because it is a great-tasting and healthy snack especially for colder days. I keep a few pouches in my bag so that I can have it on the go too. This is another protein-rich, nutrition-packed snack that I highly recommend.

I enjoy a glass of red wine with my dinner and this has been a fabulous find. It is a very tasty and full-bodied blend that I can drink without worry and guilt. Red wine in moderation can be a therapeutic and antioxidant-rich treat, but I can especially feel that organic wine it is much less toxic to my system. Plus it really gives me so much peace of mind to know that it is being grown sustainably.

I just adore my journal from Wake Up & Dream. The craftsmanship is stunning; it is such a clever idea and it looks so classic and authentic. The intention printed in the journal is just beautiful – a really great find for my journaling. It makes for a gift that will always be treasured.

Crede Organic Sesame Oil

Crede Organic Sesame Oil

Upon researching natural ingredients for our anti-ageing newsletter two months ago, I was really impressed by the health résumé of sesame oil. I decided to use it to give oil pulling a go. Oil pulling is an age-old Auyervedic practice that is meant to have great benefits for your teeth, gums and mouth, but also helps with detoxification and headaches. Since I was on a detox and suffering from headaches at the time, it seemed like a good opportunity to test it for myself. (Oil pulling can be done with any natural oil, and coconut oil is a very popular option too.) Firstly, although it is dismissed by most conventional dentists, my teeth are definitely looking whiter; they are much less sensitive (like wow) and my mouth feels amazing. As a result this is a practice I intend on doing for the rest of my life – big thumbs up for oil pulling. And secondly, because the bottle of sesame oil is always in my bathroom I have started bathing in it and using it as a body oil too. It is really thick and rich and my skin GLOWS after use.

PS: In case you are new to our community, my name is Robyn and I am one of the founders and the director of Faithful to Nature. These are some of my fave products available from our online store.
