The spout does keep fluid in so causes a splash each time if it is flicked.

Better than the 'sippy top' if using with any of the pura bottle sizes except the infant size bottle, as using sippy tops means babies have to lift the (potentially heavy) bottle to drain it but with the straw they can just drink... we have also removed the straw from the straw spout to use in a bind when eating out.
