- Wear your Purple Sunflower Fund Bandana with pride on the 12th of October, to show your support for those in need of bone marrow and stem cell transplants
- Share awareness about becoming a donor and how you can help those in need.
- By supporting this campaign we can stand together as a country to save lives.
Behind the campaign stand the cancer patients who face a very daunting task of fighting for their lives. This unfortunately is a reality for countless people and for many; their only hope is to receive a life-saving bone marrow stem cell transplant.
With the odds of finding a donor being 1:100 000, the goal is to expand the registry to at least 100 000.
The funds raised from National Bandana day every year go towards The Sunflower Fund processing blood tests to screen possible donors. Without suitable donors, many people might not ever get the chance at a full life. Donors are already few and far between, and the blood tests cost R2000 a time. The Sunflower Fund try to cover these costs through donations, but it is only through the whole country helping together that it might be possible to help more people to become donors.

I really love the colours Wanted to wear it to yoga over my curly hair and its the right size. Wearing a bandanna doesn suit me tho m using it as a protective cloth on a bedside cupboard. Brightens up the room.
