The handle is made of MOS bamboo, an environmentally sustainable timber. Bamboo is technically considered a member of the grass family. It is the fastest growing plant on earth, and incredibly abundant. The bamboo is cultivated for between three to five years, and then harvested. It re-generates itself naturally, with minimal rain and without the need for harmful pesticides. In fact, by harvesting and using the bamboo, we help to control unwanted spread into agricultural and natural forest areas. The bamboo is grown by many local farmers (NOT PLANTATION).
The bamboo is heat treated to carbonise the surface of the bamboo, giving it a quality finish and good service life. The carbonisation finishing process provides water resistance and prevents the growth of microbes (bacteria and moulds) during normal use.
The bristles are made from a polymer resistant to microbial growth during normal use, to ensure safety and durability.
We recommend you rinse and dry your toothbrush after use to keep it clean.
Disposing of your toothbrush
For best results, most dentist's recommend you replace your toothbrush either monthly or at least every quarter some even say use it until it stops.
To answer the main question, HOW LONG DOES IT LAST? - We test drove a toothbrush for over 8 months so yes they last (not that we suggest you do that).
The Environmental Toothbrush can be disposed of safely by returning it to earth in compost or landfill. Both the bamboo and bristles will biodegrade into soil, without pollution.
China’s Giant Panda consumes the soft bamboo shoots, stems and leaves as its main food source. The Environmental Toothbrush honours this environmental mascot in the logo. Because bamboo is so abundant, sustainable and renewable our use does not impact on the food source of the Giant Panda in fact they do not like the MOSO bamboo.

The bristles are nice and soft and its not abrasive on my teeth at all. I don see the point in buying a commercial toothbrush when this one does the job and saves the environment. Will definitely keep purchasing it.

Love my toothbrush - am never going to buy anything else. I tend to brush quite hard so the soft bristles are perfect!!! Best thing is that I feel rocks now about discarding it when its lifespan is over...no worries about creating more toxic landfill

The bristles are nice and soft which works well with my sensitive gums. It is important to let the toothbrush dry after every use though because I think it could get mouldy rather quickly.

Like some others here I too am guilty of brushing harder than I should, the soft brush cleans perfectly and is very gentle on the gums.

Very soft and gentle on the gums, and the company is cruelty-free and does not test on animals, like just about every other dental care company in South Africa. Will buy again and again.

After first getting the medium toothbrush, which I found too hard I switched to the soft one and it is perfect. I love the fact that it is biodegradable and the wood looks nice.

I love this toothbrush! The fact that its bio-degradeable and sustainable to produce makes it wonderful. The product itself is great, cleans my teeth and does its job! Would recommend it to everyone to use. I use the soft bristle on as it is gentler on my gums as I tend to brush too hard.
Loving this product! None of those silly toothbrush gimmicks.
Loving this product! None of those silly toothbrush gimmicks. Although I think next time I will go for the medium bristle because the soft is a bit too soft for my liking.
I think it was in my previous order I ordered the wooden toothbrushes for me and my son - both of us, LOVE our toothbrushes!
I think it was in my previous order I ordered the wooden toothbrushes for me and my son - both of us, LOVE our
toothbrushes! It feels as if cleanses and brushes much better that the traditional x-brands lol,
and even my son prefers the wooden one above his spider-man brush - and that must say a lot,
can you believe it lol?
We are really enjoying the eco-toothbrushes.
We are really enjoying the eco-toothbrushes. We've had to write our names on them because there is no way of telling them apart, other than size, but they are comfortable to brush with and quite smart-looking too!
