The healing benefits of sage tea
Cancer Prevention- Sage tea may help protect against some forms of cancer, in 2009 and 2010 studies published found Phenolic compounds in sage provided antioxidant benefits that protected DNA from damage in colon and other human cells in the tissue. Sage extract also promoted prompt repair of DNA. Rosmarinic acid, one of the main active constituents in sage tea, promotes early cell death and inhibits growth and reproduction of colon cancer cells.
Liver Health- Antioxidant effects of sage tea may improve liver function; Sage tea also protects lipids in the liver against damage from a liver toxin. In one study sage extract prevented depletion of glutathione, an important liver antioxidant, by 62 percent.
Menopause- Menopausal hot flashes were reduced by sage in a study published in 2011. A 50-percent decline in intensity of hot flashes within four weeks and a 64-percent decline within eight weeks were found, with very severe hot flashes eliminated entirely. Frequency of hot flashes also decreased significantly through the study. Other symptoms of menopause, including psychological and urinary symptoms, also decreased.
Anti-anxiety - Sage tea may help reduce anxiety and improve your mood, alertness and calmness
Did you know? Excess perspiration can be reduced with three cups of sage tea per day.
Add 1 sachet to 2 cups (500ml) of boiling water and steep for 5 minutes. Add lemon and honey to taste, and enjoy hot or cold. Best enjoyed twice daily (morning and evening).
Sage tea may cause uterine contractions, and you should not use it if you are pregnant. Large doses of sage may cause seizures and dizziness or rapid heartbeat. It also lowers blood sugar levels. Use it only under the supervision of your doctor if you are diabetic.

Refreshing and digestion-soothing

Wonderfully refreshing hot or cold, can even be blended with smoothies for a herbal boost. Great for indigestion as sage stimulates bile production as well as soothes any inflammation.
