This delicious all natural honey is fresh from Freeflow Apiaries located on a pristine fynbos mountainside farm just outside Wellington. Because Lalibela honey is not processed, it retains all its natural antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, amino acids, enzymes, carbohydrates and phytonutrients. All vital in maintaining good health.

Lalibela bees are never fed sugar water or routine antibiotics.

Lalibela honey is not heat-treated, irradiated or processed in order to avoid damage to the natural sugars, vitamins, enzymes, minerals, aromatic substances and colour of the honey.

The Legend of Lalibela:
Lalibela is an Ethiopian town named after St Lalibela, a 12 century Ethiopian monarch who was most renowned for the 11 rock-hewn churches he built in his capital. These edifices are among the major medieval monuments of Africa.
According to legend, a dense cloud of bees surrounded the Prince Lalibela at the moment of his birth. His mother chose for him the name Lalibela, meaning "the bees recognize his sovereignty".
Lalibela also means ‘honey eater’.
